Chapter 765, Want to Learn?
Pfft~!
Sheila Grey sprayed her iced tea all over the table, frantically wiping it up, and snapped, "What did you just say?"
"There are tons of rumors about that leader's affairs. Says she keeps a bunch of boy toys in the castle—takes them for walks like dogs in the garden," Shiyali whispered in her ear.
Sheila Grey frowned, and the image of Wu Heng wearing a collar popped into her mind.
"You actually believe that? Every leader has scandalous rumors."
Shiyali slung an arm around her shoulder, "Should we go tonight and take a look? Maybe pay Leader Lilith another visit while we're at it."
"Isn't that a bit too obvious?"
"Silly sister, what if someone steals your man?"
Sheila Grey took a deep breath. "Fine. Let's go tonight."
"Mhm." Shiyali smiled.
...…
Two and a half hours later—
The first movie ended.
Lilith's brows were furrowed, still absorbed in the last scene.
After a while, she finally asked, "How was this made?"
"A strange machine called a camera. Did you like the story, Leader?" Wu Heng asked with a smile.
"Not bad. Quite novel. I imagine it's popular on the island." Lilith sipped her tea.
If not for her youthful appearance, her gestures resembled that of a noblewoman enjoying afternoon tea.
"Pretty popular. Every day there's a line outside the cinema. Mostly couples, though," Wu Heng replied with a chuckle.
"Couples, huh? Which one's your wife? You haven't introduced anyone."
Uh…
"I don't have a wife yet. The girls here grew up with me—they're like family," Wu Heng said with a grin.
Lilith glanced to the side.
The cat-eared maid was wagging her tail like a maraca.
She withdrew her gaze and added, "What kind of girl do you like? I can introduce someone who matches your status. It's good to have a backing."
"I'll let fate decide. I'll wait until I become a Hero."
Lilith raised a brow, "Oh? Confident you'll become a Hero?"
Wu Heng leaned back, "I'm a Necromancer. If not in life, then as an undead—I'll rise eventually."
Lilith rolled her eyes. "I thought you had the guts to ascend while alive."
Knock knock~!
The door opened. Minnie entered with a brocade box and handed it over.
Wu Heng took it, placed it between himself and Lilith, and opened the lid, revealing a beautifully crafted potion inside. "This is our newly developed enhancement potion. I hope you'll accept it."
The potion bottle had a redesigned, crystal-like diamond shape.
Much more exquisite than standard potions.
It was Shanaila's idea—if it sold for sky-high prices, it should look the part.
Lilith examined it. "This is the enhancement potion you mentioned? How's the production volume?"
"Very low. We can only make four or five bottles every five months—and that's if things go smoothly."
Lilith nodded. "I'll accept it. I won't bid on it tomorrow."
Wu Heng said, "It's a gift to thank you for your support. It's unrelated to the auction. Bid all you want—buy it all even. I'll make more profit."
"Oh? I like you more and more," Lilith said, a rare smile on her cold face.
If she weren't so young, she'd be stunning.
She put the potion away.
Minnie brought in more snacks and desserts.
Wu Heng continued, "Leader!"
"Yes?"
"That skill of yours—shutting people up. Is that a skill?" Wu Heng asked curiously.
"Why? Want to learn? It doesn't suit your Necromancer path," Lilith said casually while nibbling on a dried fruit.
"Even if I can't learn it, it's cool to see. Pretty slick." Wu Heng grinned. "Mind lending me the skill book?"
Lilith didn't answer directly. "What else do you want to see?"
"If you have high-level Necromancer skill books or ways to enhance ghosts, I'd love to check them out."
Lilith paused before replying, "I'll look for you when I'm back."
"Thanks, Leader. Want to watch the second movie?"
"Second?"
"Like a book series—it has volumes," Wu Heng explained.
"Play it. Let's finish both before we head back to the Guild," Lilith said.
She was clearly more talkative now.
"Not staying for dinner? I had the maids prepare it."
"No need."
The room dimmed again.
The second movie started.
...…
Near dusk—
Sheila Grey and Shiyali left the Guild.
Chatting as they walked, scheming how to compete with the female leader for their man.
Just as they reached the gate, a carriage stopped. Wu Heng and the girl in purple stepped down together.
Back already?
So much for preparing an excuse to visit.
"Leader Lilith," the two quickly stepped forward.
"Room ready?"
"Yes. I'll show you," Sheila Grey led the way. "There are a few elders from HQ in the dorm area too."
"No matter. Don't tell them I'm here."
"Understood. The room has AC and lights. If you need anything else, I'll have it prepared…"
Their figures gradually disappeared down the hall.
Wu Heng turned and headed toward the auction venue.
...…
The venue was Shanaila's opera house.
Large space, well-equipped.
As he entered, several wood elves approached. "Island Lord."
"Is the venue ready?" Wu Heng asked.
"Everything is set. We can start tomorrow," the elf replied calmly.
Wu Heng added, "A lot of high-level Professionals came. Tell the attendants to be careful—don't stir trouble."
"Understood," the elf nodded.
"Prepare a VIP room. We'll need it tomorrow."
"Yes."
"Go on, then. I've got nothing else."
The wood elf left to prep the VIP room and brief the staff again.
Footsteps echoed.
Sheila Grey and Shiyali returned.
"Room settled?" Wu Heng asked.
Sheila Grey looked at him, "I thought she was staying at your place."
"What are you thinking? She's a woman—how could she stay with me?"
Shiyali muttered, "Rumor has it she keeps boy toys. Thought you bowed to power."
"I'm telling Lilith."
Shiyali's face turned pale. She clung to his arm, "Are you crazy? She'll kill me!"
"Was it wrong?"
"Wrong, okay?!" she said with a cute pout.
Wu Heng added, "The Church people came to my place and mocked me. Got smacked by Leader Lilith."
"What happened?"
Wu Heng explained the incident.
The two sisters raised their brows. "So satisfying."
"Serves them right. Didn't recognize Lilith and ran their mouths," Wu Heng chuckled.
Shiyali joined in, "Now they've got no mouths. And Lilith can't return soon. Let's see how they eat or drink."
"Will they starve?"
"Nah, high-level types won't die so easily."
Wu Heng said, "Keep an eye on them. If they die, let's see where the bodies get buried."
"You even want their corpses?"
Wu Heng grinned, "Come on. Dinner's ready. We made a feast today—let's eat and chat."
The three walked off together.
"We were thinking of visiting you tonight anyway."
...…
Inside the Church's room—
Clerics chanted devoutly. Holy light descended upon the two men.
When the light faded, they checked their mouths and eyes—still no change.
The bishop quickly stood and started flipping through books.
In the end, his expression turned bleak.
The knight wrote in his palm: Wait for the leader to return—or for her to calm down. Only then will the effect end.
Bang~!
The knight slammed his fist into the floor. The stone cracked.
...…
Night fell.
The girl in the purple dress returned to her room.
Truth be told, she liked it here.
The night was still bright—and no annoying sun.
Even the rowdy streets, with thugs brawling, were more interesting than HQ.
She walked back from Lighthouse Street to the central district.
When it got late and the streets emptied, only patrolling skeletons wandered around.
She finally returned to her dorm with her attendant.
Entering the room, she took out a wooden coffin from her spatial ring—ready to rest.
Just as she was about to close the lid, her gaze shifted to the corner of the room.
She said flatly, "You're Wu Heng's ghost?"
A small head poked out, curiously asking, "Sister, were you the one who chased off those bad guys today?"
