Chapter 718 - Chapter 718: What Are You Doing

Chapter 718: What Are You Doing

The blade tore through the air, slashing downward.

The smug smile on Wu Heng's face instantly turned to horror.

Sheila Grey also recognized him, her expression freezing as she forced herself to halt.

Wu Heng reached for the wrist holding the sword.

The blade stopped midair, and cold sweat trickled down Wu Heng's forehead.

Both of them stared wide-eyed.

There was a shared sense of lingering fear in their gazes.

After several seconds, Wu Heng finally asked, "What are you doing?"

Sheila Grey replied, "What are you doing coming in like that?"

Wu Heng released her wrist. Sheila Grey put away the cursed blade, and the frost mist around her slowly dissipated. "You're not hurt, right? I didn't know it was you. I thought someone used a teleportation scroll."

Wu Heng wiped his sweat. "I'm fine. It's a new skill I learned—just wanted to try it out."

Sheila Grey quickly checked him over. "Next time, call ahead. You can't just pop in like that—what if it was an enemy?"

Wu Heng grabbed her hand. "I just got back and wanted to surprise you."

Sheila Grey looked a little shy but didn't pull away. "More like a scare."

"Did you miss me?"

"Why would I? You weren't gone that long."

"I missed you. You really didn't miss me?"

"Tch~! As if." She turned her head away.

As they talked, the sound of hurried footsteps approached.

Shiyali, with her short golden hair and two skeletal guards, rushed over.

She must've heard the commotion from her room.

"What happened?" she called from afar.

Sheila Grey pulled her hand free and said, "Nothing. Wu Heng's here."

When Shiyali saw Wu Heng, her anxious look faded and she smiled. "When did you get back?"

"This afternoon."

Shiyali frowned again. "You climbed the wall to get in?"

The steward's residence was connected to the Guild and had only one main entrance.

Wu Heng appearing in the back courtyard piqued her curiosity.

"Didn't want to be seen. Came around the back and saw Sheila Grey here," he said with a smile.

"Never seen a lord climb walls to visit someone," Shiyali chuckled. "Come inside. I've got some fresh flower tea—it's best right now."

"Thanks," Wu Heng replied.

Shiyali led the way. Sheila Grey subtly distanced herself from Wu Heng and walked alongside her sister.

Wu Heng followed behind.

From the back, the sisters looked quite different.

They were about the same height, but Sheila Grey had a fuller, curvier figure—especially her hips. Her youthful look came with mature curves.

Shiyali had longer legs and a more elegant elven air—an aloof grace that made men want to conquer her.

Sheila Grey's thighs were rounder, likely due to her being a melee class. Wu Heng even suspected she had abs.

Hard to say who was better—they were beautiful in different ways.

In the modern world, these two would definitely be entertainment stars, famous just for their looks.

Then again, elves were naturally aligned with human beauty standards.

Soon, the three entered the living room.

The skeletal guards returned to their posts at the door.

The room hadn't changed much since Wu Heng's last visit.

Some new decorations and paintings adorned the walls.

He recognized two paintings from the island's exhibition—they must've been purchased there.

Shiyali began brewing tea and asked casually, "So things are wrapped up in Netalei City?"

"Yes. The Guild sent a new investigation team."

Sheila Grey raised an eyebrow. "They replaced the team?"

Wu Heng repeated the same explanation he gave the maids.

Shiyali brought over the tea. "Good thing you're back. Things outside are a mess. Nothing beats Gold-Silver Island."

Wu Heng accepted it and took out two gifts from his space ring.

One for each sister—he slid them across the table.

"Things were chaotic over there, so I couldn't find anything amazing. Hope you like them."

Sheila Grey received a gem-studded dagger, while Shiyali got a magical longbow that created arrows when drawn.

Both were high-quality items.

He'd found them in the former city lord's space ring.

After so many years in office, the man had collected some nice things.

The sisters' eyes lit up as they examined the gifts.

Sheila Grey favored swords, Shiyali used bows.

The gifts matched them perfectly.

"Thank you!" Sheila Grey smiled.

Shiyali added, "I love it. I've never had such a good bow."

"Don't mention it," Wu Heng said, sipping his tea.

Elven flower tea had a fragrant, floral taste—quite pleasant.

Shiyali sat beside him, her shoulder pressing against his. "Do you like it?"

"Delicious."

"Glad you do. Come by more often—we have plenty more." She smiled.

Sheila Grey shot her a look over Wu Heng and quickly changed the subject. "Wu Heng, what's your plan now?"

Wu Heng took another sip. "Per headquarters' orders, I'm arranging supplies to be shipped to Netalei City. I've asked Viel to handle it. When the time comes, assign a few teams to escort the shipments."

Sheila Grey nodded.

Wu Heng continued, "Beyond that, the Guild doesn't need me much. On the island, I plan to fully electrify Gold-Silver Island—make sure every home has lighting."

The sisters' eyes narrowed in surprise.

They looked at him strangely.

In this world, electricity and lighting were considered magical tools.

Lighting just the central district and main roads was already impressive.

That alone had drawn nobles to settle on the island.

Property prices in the central zone had soared.

Now he wanted to give everyone electricity? Even more surprising.

"Is that... really necessary?" Shiyali asked after a pause.

Sheila Grey added, "It's expensive. People rest at night—why light everything?"

"It's just an idea. I'll publish something in the newspaper and see how residents feel."

The sisters exchanged a glance but said nothing more.

Wu Heng's past ideas had also sounded crazy, but they'd all helped the island.

Maybe this would too.

"What about you two? Anything new here?"

"We're fine. Mostly just working at the Guild. Nothing else."

"Yeah, it's boring without you."

"I'll open a theater soon so you can watch movies."

"What's that?"

Their curiosity piqued, and they began to ask questions.

Wu Heng explained what a theater was and how it differed from the exhibition TVs.

They chatted until evening fell.

"If there's nothing else, I'll head back," Wu Heng said.

"Alright. Now that you're back, come visit often," Shiyali said with a smile.

Sheila Grey also stood. "I'll walk you out."

Shiyali saw him to the door, while Sheila Grey walked with him.

They crossed the courtyard to the gate.

As Wu Heng reached for her hand, she didn't pull away. "Go now, before someone sees."

"Then let's go somewhere private."

He wrapped an arm around her waist and flicked his fingers. A magic array formed underfoot.

Sheila Grey's eyes widened. "It's dark out—there are people everywhere! Where are we going?"

This was peak hours in the central district.

Residents and vendors filled the streets under the lights.

In a flash, they vanished—reappearing in the steward's study.

The room was dim, lit only by streetlamps outside.

Sheila Grey realized they were in her own study.

Turning around, she met Wu Heng's intense gaze and felt flustered. "What are you doing?"

He pulled her close and kissed her cool, soft lips.

Sheila Grey's eyes widened in panic.

But slowly, her gaze softened.

They embraced—closer, deeper.

More and more lost in each other.

Wu Heng's hand slipped into her robe, caressing her waist and firm abs.

"Mmm~!" Sheila Grey panicked slightly, trying to grab his wandering hand.

Smack~!

A crisp sound echoed in the study.

Wu Heng had playfully slapped her butt. Sheila Grey looked aggrieved, but her arms wrapped around his shoulders again.

Wu Heng slipped off her top, unfastening the clasps of her chest binding one by one, tossing them aside.
