For a moment, all she could do was stare down at the boy in her arms, her mind a blank, a void where thoughts should be.
He was alive.

A real, genuine, unguarded smile that lit up his face like the sun breaking through the clouds of a Sideran storm.
He wasn't hurt.
He didn't seem afraid, or any further traumatized than the last time she'd seen him.
She smiled, finally, returning his expression with one of her own, and reached up to gently run her fingers through his messy hair.
"You're acting like you missed me a little~"
The boy huffed, nodded, and shoved his face into her abdomen. "Mm!" His little voice was muffled by the fabric of her dress.
She laughed and hugged him, closing her eyes for just a second. He was okay. Whatever had happened, Donncahd had moved him, but...
