The warm up done, and the participants were divided into several groups since there are a lot of participants to divide into only two groups. They will be playing against each other, and the Board will judge who gets into the club. So, these participants need to earnestly show their skills to be picked. Well, actually, since the warm-up, the Board already starts marking their points, but having them play might help to make sure they can play for real.
There are exactly five teams altogether; that's a lot of participants. They start the tournament when all participants are ready. The first group goes against the second team, and the first wins. The third goes against the fourth, and the fourth wins. And lastly, the fifth group goes against the senior group instead.
"Group five, you guys will go against your senior. Don't be afraid, this game is just to see your skills in a real game, so even if you guys lose to the seniors, nothing changes, okay? So good luck and don't stress out," said Frank, explaining the rules of the game.
The games started, and Chaz sharpened his gaze entirely on this game, which he didn't do in the last two games. Frank, on the side, already knows why he acts like that, but because of how intensely focused he is on this game, the other Boards naturally feel the need to focus. They might have thought that there were talented players in the group.
And of course that's not the case. Remember, there is another person who caught his eye. Yes! It's none other than Aven, his crush. He could not help but focus on Aven.
Aven is considered delicate to the people, so the fact that he wanted to join a football club does not shock not only Chaz but the entirety of the University that paid attention to him. However, more than anything, Chaz feels much happier as he now has a reason and more time to get close to Aven.
Another reason Chaz's gaze became more sharpened was not only because Aven is part of the group, but also to make sure he had enough skills to be chosen. He maybe can just let Aven in, even if he doesn't really have skills, but the tradition of the club requires that the members need to be skilled. He is not a selfish that going to ignore the rules just to fulfill his desire. So, he can only pray that Aven is skilled.
Fortunately, Aven is very good at playing football. Compared to others in the team, he is one of the talented ones. It is surprising to the Board since again, Aven kinda has these delicate images that might actually be afraid of the sun. Aven looks cool on the field, making people fall for him more, including Chaz. He looks so shining as if reflecting the sun's rays. It's really an unexpected side Aven has.
Aven tried his best to score and show the skills he has. He really poured his entire heart into getting in. He even managed to score a point in this game. He cannot stop smiling when he scores points. He feels like the dream that he has is almost achieved. The game ends, and Aven is very satisfied with his performance, even though his team loses.
After the game, the player was in line again to sit in front of the Board. Aven can feel that the Board keeps looking at him, which also might mean that he can be chosen. He feels happier in his heart. He is nervous, as that feeling might be wrong, but he keeps thinking positively.
The Board starts the name-calling, "The names that are being called mean you are chosen, so listen well. First group, Max, Mike... Lastly, group 5, Aven, Daniel...."
The moment Aven's name was called, his smile didn't drop for even a bit. That smile became wider as he felt really good. He does think he might not be chosen since there are many other participants who are talented, but he still encourages himself that he is also a good player. Chaz also comes to Aven before the game and gives him encouragement that heightens his spirit.
Chaz in the Board line can see Aven sitting in the row. He also can't deny the charm of Aven's smile. It is a sweet and bright smile that he cannot help but smile. Chaz also feels happy because he can spend more time with Aven without any reason now. Which also means he can easily court Aven now.
After the name-calling, they dispersed. Aven starts cleaning up his things and is ready to leave. Chaz grabbed the chance while he could to approach Aven.
"How are you going to go back?" asked Chaz from Aven's behind.
Aven was a bit startled, but after he saw who that person actually was, he smiled in excitement. "Oh, senior. I drive, actually", said Aven. Chaz, a bit down, heard that, "Really?"
"Yeah, you know what, I'm actually shocked to know you are the president of the club. If I know, I will ask what kind of test I need to prepare myself," said Aven. "Really?" said Chaz nonchalantly.
Chaz took something from his bag and gave it to Aven. It is water since Aven does not seem to have it, "take it."
"Yes, I do feel thirsty. I actually left my water bottle at home. Thank you, senior," said Aven. Aven took it and drank it. He feels much more refreshed after that and once again thanks Chaz. Chaz smiled a bit, happy that his sincerity was not denied.
Well, if you think again, just who will push away the things given by the University Celeb, right? But in Aven's case, it might be special since he didn't even know how popular Chaz is until now.
Aven took out his phone from his pocket and looked at the time on his screen. The clock show 6.35 p.m. Aven became hurried the moment he looked at the time.
"Oh, senior, I actually need to go. I hope to talk more about the assignment but I am late for an errand, so I need to excuse myself". Chaz looked at Aven and just nodded, then Aven excused themselves.
