"Sasuke, let's have a refreshing battle!"
Within the Uchiha clan's compound — inside the patriarch's residence — Uzumaki Naruto stood at the center of the training courtyard. His short golden hair clung to his forehead with sweat, his bright blue eyes blazing with fighting spirit. He dropped into a low stance, fists clenched tight, and shouted his challenge.
"Damn it! Naruto, don't think I'm afraid of you!"
Uchiha Sasuke, standing opposite him, wore his own stubborn scowl. His hands clenched into fists as well, eyes narrowing into a competitive glare.
For a moment, their gazes locked, neither one willing to back down. The air between them seemed to crackle with invisible sparks, filled with the fierce energy of two children too proud to admit defeat.
Watching from a short distance away, Itachi stood beneath the shade of a maple tree. His calm black eyes softened as a faint smile crossed his face.
At barely four years old, Sasuke and Naruto had already grown inseparable — and insufferable — to each other. Every encounter seemed to end in playful fights or reckless contests of endurance. To anyone else, it might look childish, but to Itachi, it was something else entirely.
As the older brother and occasional instructor, he saw hope in it.
The son of his clan and the nephew of the Fifth Hokage growing up together — training, learning, even quarreling side by side — was a good omen for both Konoha and the Uchiha.
'And for Mirai-sensei's future plans… even better.'
"Sasuke, I'm coming!"
Naruto's voice rang out across the courtyard.
"Bring it on!" Sasuke shouted back, stance tightening as he prepared himself.
Itachi's eyes narrowed slightly, an analytical gleam flashing in them. Between these two, who would come out on top this time?
Although Naruto carried the Namikaze bloodline, Itachi privately believed Sasuke had the upper hand.
After all, Mirai was swamped with duties as Hokage and had little time to personally guide his nephew. Sasuke, on the other hand, trained under Itachi's supervision almost every day, his progress growing more impressive with each passing week.
A month earlier, Sasuke had successfully extracted chakra for the first time — and he had even started learning the Three Body Technique. For a child not yet in the Academy, that was exceptional.
'Naruto may be full of energy,' Itachi thought, 'but without training, he shouldn't be able to keep up with Sasuke.'
He folded his arms, waiting to see how the bout would unfold.
But his calm composure lasted only seconds.
As Naruto moved, the smile froze on Itachi's lips.
The boy's small body blurred. His legs struck the ground with explosive force, sending up dust as he launched forward like a wild animal.
'That speed—!'
Even with his perceptive instincts, Itachi almost missed it. Naruto shot toward Sasuke so fast that his figure became a flicker, an afterimage rippling in the sunlight.
Sasuke barely had time to gasp. "So fast!"
The next instant, Naruto's fist stopped just inches from his face. The wind pressure alone made Sasuke's hair whip backward. He froze, eyes wide in disbelief.
The courtyard went silent.
A bead of sweat rolled down Sasuke's cheek. "H-how…?"
He hadn't even moved yet — hadn't had a chance to use a single move Itachi taught him.
Naruto grinned, lowering his fist with a triumphant look.
"Guess I win this round!"
Sasuke's jaw tightened in frustration. "Tch… Again! I won't lose next time!"
"Fine by me!"
They clashed again — and again. But within moments, the outcome was the same.
A few minutes later, Sasuke found himself pinned to the ground, Naruto sitting triumphantly on top of him, twisting his arm backward just enough to make him squeal.
"Stop! Stop! I said no more!"
Itachi blinked, his mind momentarily blank.
'Not just speed… even his strength has increased.'
The difference between the two was no longer minor. Naruto's entire physique radiated raw vitality. The blows he landed, the way his feet dug into the ground — it was power far beyond a normal four-year-old.
This wasn't a small change.
This was transformation.
Naruto had changed — completely.
'What happened to him?'
Itachi's thoughts raced. He could tell Naruto wasn't using chakra. The movement was entirely physical — pure muscle strength, coordination, and balance. But that made it even stranger.
How could a child his age have a body this developed?
Could it be the result of some special training Mirai had started giving him?
He exhaled slowly. Perhaps that was the answer.
"Again!" Naruto called out cheerfully, releasing Sasuke and helping him stand up.
Sasuke groaned, brushing off dust. "Naruto, how did you suddenly become so strong?"
Naruto smiled, puffing out his chest proudly. "Because I want to control my own fate!"
He clenched his fists. "Sasuke, remember this — fate can only be controlled by oneself! That's what uncle taught me!"
Itachi's eyes widened slightly at those words.
Sasuke, too, froze for a moment. "To… control my own fate?" he repeated quietly.
Something stirred inside him — a faint spark, the beginning of an idea he didn't yet understand.
But the words lodged deep in his young heart.
…
Konoha Research Center.
Far from the laughter of the Uchiha compound, a sterile white room buzzed with quiet tension.
Under the harsh fluorescent lights, Orochimaru, dressed in a white lab coat, stood before a long steel table. Upon it lay a dissected body — one that had once been the Human Path of Pain.
Since Mirai had retrieved this corpse from Akatsuki's battlefield, Orochimaru had devoted nearly all his time to studying it. Every incision, every nerve thread, every chakra line — he documented with obsessive precision.
On a small tray beside him rested the pair of purple ripple-patterned eyes. The Rinnegan.
All the black receivers had already been removed and cataloged. What remained was a hollowed shell — pale, motionless, a human form without identity.
"This is incredible," Orochimaru murmured, his golden eyes gleaming. "So this is the power of the Rinnegan… to turn corpses into vessels of divine strength."
His serpentine pupils dilated with fascination.
"If this is just one of the Paths… could it be that the others are corpses too?"
The question sent a thrill down his spine.
'Tendō Pain — the self-proclaimed god who had led Akatsuki — could he too have been nothing but a corpse?'
The thought was almost blasphemous, but the evidence before him was undeniable.
He turned slightly toward the man standing beside him — Namikaze Mirai.
"You don't seem surprised by this discovery." Orochimaru said with a half-smile.
Mirai's expression was calm, unreadable. His blue eyes reflected the dead body on the table without emotion.
"A corpse has no bio-magnetic field." he said simply.
"Bio-magnetic field?" Orochimaru repeated, intrigued.
Mirai nodded. "The activity of every living cell generates microcurrents. Those currents create magnetic fields. All living functions — from heartbeat to chakra flow — depend on them."
Orochimaru's eyes gleamed. "Magnetic fields… I've studied the Cellular Activation Technique before, enhancing life force through cell stimulation… but magnetic fields…"
He trailed off, mind already spinning with ideas.
Could it be that the very essence of life — and death — was tied to unseen magnetic forces?
Mirai watched quietly as fascination lit up Orochimaru's expression.
"With your intellect," Mirai said softly, "once you understand the principles of the Magnetic Field System, you might uncover something truly remarkable."
The scientist's grin widened. "Perhaps even a new evolution of ninjutsu itself…"
Mirai folded his hands behind his back, his gaze turning thoughtful.
Naruto had already entered the path of the Magnetic Field. His body, refined by that system, possessed the strength of a bear, the speed of a leopard, the sharpness of an eagle's sight.
The boy's muscles and nerves had been completely restructured — his very cells now pulsed with controlled electromagnetic energy.
In contrast, most shinobi were fragile beings — capable of immense chakra feats, yet vulnerable in body.
Naruto was different. His foundation was shifting toward something beyond conventional human limits.
If Orochimaru could truly grasp the scientific foundation of this phenomenon…
Then perhaps Konoha's future would change forever.
