Chapter 150 - 150: The battle begins!

"Hey, I think I made a mistake," Piccolo muttered to his allies. He explained what he had heard and how his carelessness had led to the current situation. Goku casually patted him on the shoulder and smiled.

"Don't worry! Everyone makes mistakes, especially a rookie. You just have to remember this moment and use it as motivation to improve in the future," the Saiyan said gently, causing Piccolo to frown. He nodded but brushed the man's hand off his shoulder. They weren't friends!

The ground near the two Saiyans began to twist, indicating that something was emerging from below and trying to rise to the surface. Likewise, several new signs of ki appeared, confirming that whatever was buried there was alive.

Bulma used her empathic ability on these possible creatures, but what she found made her blood run cold because she barely detected any emotion. It was as if those beings lacked emotion or had never experienced it.

"Hehe! Look at that, Vegeta! The soil on this planet is really promising!" Nappa exclaimed when he noticed that the plants had begun to sprout earlier than usual, a sign of the soil's excellent quality.

This was no surprise, as even in this seemingly barren area, the ground was firm with no obvious signs of erosion. Not to mention, the two of them were already aware of this planet's terrain's special properties.

"It seems the Saibamans will be very useful on this planet," Vegeta replied with a subtle smile, pleased that things had turned out this way since he didn't want to face multiple enemies at once.

Then, the Saiyan scowled, and a light violet aura filled with electric bolts surged from his body. He moved at great speed and appeared in front of a beam of ki that was equally purple but a darker shade.

He deflected the attack toward the sky, piercing the clouds and sending it into the upper atmosphere. Floating a few inches above the ground, Vegeta turned and looked at Bulma as he raised his index finger and shook it in denial.

"That is very rude of you, Miss Earthling. You chose the terrain for our fight. We will call our comrades to the encounter," he said in a proud and arrogant tone. Bulma, who had suddenly begun to tremble, narrowed her eyes slightly as she became deep in thought.

Soon, a green claw with three sharp nails pierced the ground, followed by more of the same appendages. The creatures tore through the earth, slowly emerging from it and revealing their forms to the world.

They were small, almost like children. They had light green skin divided by plates and segments, as if they were insects. They had a hunched posture and rather sinister red eyes. Their heads were divided down the middle as if someone had fitted the two halves of their skulls together.

There were six of them, and they quickly positioned themselves in front of Vegeta and Nappa, emitting low sounds and clicks as if this were their way of communicating. The beings were in sync, looking at the Earthlings with bloodthirsty grins, though Bulma noticed it seemed more rehearsed than genuine.

"What the hell are those things?" Krillin asked, astonished and somewhat unsettled by these unknown entities, especially since they possessed a great deal of ki. Surprisingly, despite their sinister appearance, Krillin could sense an excessively pure energy within them, like that of a newborn on Earth.

"Hehehe, it's a product of the Demon Realm. Some important nobles from there sold it to Emperor Freezer's army. The whole universe knows about this. Don't tell me you haven't heard of the Saibamans," Nappa replied mockingly. Nappa replied mockingly. His insinuation that they were just lowlifes in the universe was clear.

"I know about them. Jaco had a lot of information on them, and I've read some things on the Space Forum about these beings. They're life forms that are part plant and part animal. They're planted in the ground and sprout shortly after. The quality of the soil can greatly determine its strength, and... This place is near the oasis I created years ago," said Bulma, her expression serious. She didn't expect that something buried deep in her memory, an unintended consequence of her first use of her power as a Plant, would resurface like this.

When they first met Kami-Sama, he guided Bulma to unleash a surge of power from her Plant form. This altered the surrounding terrain, caused plants to grow, and gave rise to a small stream.

Over time, her actions transformed the area into a self-sustaining oasis. This phenomenon occurred in every place where Bulma unleashed her power and failed to control its influence. One example is the island where the tournament she once participated in was held.

Although she couldn't sense any trace of her special energy nearby, it was clear that the soil was extremely fertile because of her. Added to the fact that she had previously made a series of wishes to improve the Earth as a whole, endowing the soil with superior and selective resilience, this area had become an ideal place for the awakening of her new enemies.

"Well, I suppose thanks, Miss Earthling," Vegeta said, though he didn't laugh; his broad smile showed just how happy he was with this situation. His side now had numerical superiority, which might not be as useful as he'd hoped, but at least it would prevent him and his partner from being surrounded by two or more enemies.

"Hehehe, Vegeta, it looks like they're nervous. Besides, those watching us through those micro-drones are probably feeling the same way," Nappa chuckled as he pointed to various spots in the air where nothing was there. But both he and Vegeta knew something was there.

Dr. Gero's drones might be state-of-the-art on Earth, but the universe is vast, with civilizations that follow different paths of development. The scouter not only detected energy and served for communication, but also had many auxiliary functions, one of which was technological detection and hacking.

Thus, the two invading Saiyans could fight on any planet without worrying too much about surveillance because their equipment could detect and counteract it, making the process of destroying a civilization easier.

However, neither Vegeta nor Nappa attacked the micro-drones because they wanted to broadcast what was happening on this planet. If they won, something they were fully confident they would achieve, they could weaken the Earthlings' resistance.

"I think we can begin. What do you think?" Vegeta's aura blazed as he had no intention of standing by and waiting, especially when three enemies were in trouble.

Though not a high-class Saiyan, Kakarot had somehow managed to defeat and perhaps kill Raditz. His threat had to be taken seriously since it wasn't uncommon for a low-class Saiyan to grow significantly stronger. Raditz's father and Kakarot's father, Bardock, were perfect examples of this.

Then there were the Namekians. Legends spoke of their great martial power and incredible magical prowess. They possessed special attacks, and their spells were unexpected, making them a perfect tool for the battlefield.

Finally, there was the blue-haired Earthling whom all the enemy warriors seemed to regard as a leader. At least, that's what the Saiyan prince could discern from his vast experience with numerous planetary invasions. Leaders might not always be the strongest, but they were certainly the most unique and troublesome.

If that leader was the strongest in her group, the threat level increased. Vegeta's reluctance to fight a group of enemies without numerical superiority stemmed from this latent danger; he had often come close to dying because of such adversaries.

He was a proud, stubborn, battle-addicted Saiyan, but he was also extremely thoughtful and flexible-minded, knowing when and how to adapt to survive. The only things he needed were to survive, to get stronger, and ultimately, to find out what happened to his world.

Only a fool would believe that an asteroid caused its destruction. Maybe it was Freezer? Or was it the terrifying being who forced his father to humble himself? Or maybe it was one of those legendary threats, like Majin Buu or the Gete Star.

Without power, he couldn't know for sure. He could only guess! He had to win this fight, capture the Namekian, and confirm certain reports, such as the fact that Kakarot had a son. Since he could only monitor Raditz's scouter for audio, he didn't dare access the video feed because he didn't want to reveal too much.

"Earth will be my turning point!" Vegeta thought, filling himself with ever-greater determination. His presence grew stronger as his ki reacted to his emotions and desires.

"All right, let's get started! Saibaman, attack mode!" Nappa declared, a yellow aura filled with lightning surging from his body and crackling constantly like a thousand birds in flight. The aura made him seem like an ancient beast preparing for slaughter.

It was no wonder his murderous intent seemed to alter reality once unleashed. Decades of slaughter, massacres, and even the occasional planetary destruction had endowed the Saiyan warrior with an extremely malevolent ki.

The coldness emanating from his energy came with a sense of heaviness akin to death. Sensitive observers with various means at their disposal could detect that Nappa was surrounded by vast resentment and grievance, the product of his life's actions.

Vegeta wasn't far behind; in fact, he was worse than his partner. His murderous intent was more intense, the malice surrounding him was thicker, and his Ki seemed more evil than Garlic Jr.'s, whom they had defeated months ago.

The sunlight dimmed slightly as the man released his violet aura, staining the area with its color. The prince crouched like a carnivorous beast about to pounce on its prey. Based on this Saiyan's dietary habits, perhaps he viewed the Earthlings as food.

Upon receiving the order from Nappa, one of their designated controllers, the Saibamen sprang into action. Their auras blazed, emitting a barely visible glow. Moreover, the purity of these six beings stood in stark contrast to the evil radiating from their masters.

"How many have you killed to possess such evil energy!?" Ten Shinhan asked, somewhat agitated. His third eye allowed him to see things that others could not, or would have to detect by other means.

"I don't know much, I think. What about you, Vegeta? Do you remember the number?" Nappa asked, a bloodthirsty smile on his face. He had also assumed a fighting stance, his massive muscles bulging even more.

"Tell me, Nappa. Do you remember how many pieces of meat you've eaten in your life? I don't!" Vegeta exclaimed. It was the first time he had raised his voice since arriving on this planet. After saying that, he flew straight toward Goku.

And so began the fight between the two of them. Goku didn't hesitate to respond. Covered in a red aura, he lunged at the prince. They clashed fists while barely hovering in the air. They both had savage grins on their faces because they were Saiyans who loved battle. However, they approached and viewed battle very differently, with fighting styles shaped by their life experiences.

The fight between the lower and upper classes had begun!
