Michael's POV
After hours, we were standing in front of the head alpha, also known as my future father-in-law. Since we are wolves, we don't need a grand wedding or anything like that; just making your mate is enough, and the majority of people only mark.
"So, you finally chose someone to replace you?" the head alpha said.
"Yes, Dad, we worked on it for hours," Alex said with a proud smile.
"Didn't ask you, son, I asked my beta."
Alex pouted while I chuckled slightly at him.
"Yes, I spent months, and then we spent hours, and finally figured out who would be taking my place as the beta."
"Who is it?"
"Sebastain"
Suddenly, the door opened and Sebastain enetered.
"Say the name of the devil," Alex said.
"What?" Sebastain looked at us with a confused expression.
"Michael has chosen you as the new beta after he becomes the luna," the head alpha.
"You're fucking kidding with me?!" Sebastain got excited and launched towards me, hugging me tightly and kissing my face.
Suddenly, he was pushed by Alex, who immediately removed his handkerchief and wiped my face, gently wiping traces of Sebastian's kisses from my face, making me almost smile.
"Keep your lips off my mate's face, you jackass," Alex said while glaring at Sebastain, and then pulled me into a hug like he was trying to wipe the traces of Sebastain's scent from me.
Sebastain rolled his eyes. "Relax, I got a mate. I ain't interested in your mate."
"You have a mate?!" The three of them looked at him in surprise.
Suddenly, his eyes turned wide in surprise realizing what he had said, and he ran out of the room like there was an angry pregnant omega chasing him because he ate their snack.
"Well, that was something," the head alpha said and then turned to us. "So, he's gonna be the new beta?"
"It looks like you're judging us, dad" Alex said with a roll of his eye.
"Because I am."
"He might be like this but he would be a good beta. He has been working under me and with me the most; we have been to a lot of missions together," I said, remembering all the times Sebastain and I have worked together.
"Fine. Whoever you think is the best," the head alpha shrugged and went back to the paperback.
"We can change the beta later, right?" Alex asked.
"Yes, but these are the rules that you have to follow if you want to demote them," the head alpha gave a thick file.
"That's a thick file," Alex said.
"You asked for it," the head alpha shrugged. "Now, get out and start preparing the people who will get your positions after you guys are promoted," and just like that, he shooed us out of the office.
