The three took their spots, as the dummies shifted and spread out. Out of the ground, three dummies rose, all of them different shapes and sizes. Tensei held out his hands, "These will be your challenge. These three dummies are called Target Alpha, Target Beta, and Target Gamma."
He pointed to the first one, "Target Alpha, it moves fast and requires precise aim to take it down."
He pointed to the next, "Target Beta, it moves unpredictably and takes powerful attacks."
And he then pointed towards the last one, "Target Gamma, a brute that takes brute force to take it down. Now, I will assign one for each of you. Clorissa, you'll take Target Alpha and Odessa, you'll have Target Beta. And lastly, Jiro, you'll take on Target Gamma."
After everyone was given their targets, they got into position. Alaric watched eagerly, he was ready to watch and see how much stronger Odessa and Clorissa were. And, this guy, Jiro. He wondered how strong he was. He folded his arms.
Tensai turned towards Clorissa, "You'll go first, begin when you're ready." She nodded and took a step inside the area, as the target started moving. She aimed her staff forward, as the dummy began to sprint around the area at super speed. Her emerald eyes rolled and scanned as she tried to pinpoint where it would end up. Small bubbles began to swirl to the tip as it glowed a faint blue. With precision, a blast of condensed bubble shot out from the tip of her staff, zipping through the air as it slammed into the target, ripping a hole straight through its metal chest. Alaric gave a smile, her precision was amazing! And she was able to strike it on the first attack. Despite the wound, it didn't stop moving, and Clorissa gave a frown. Her emerald eyes glowed blue as she drew her staff back and water began to condense and wave through the air towards her staff. Alaric eyes opened slightly, "That's new…" he murmured, watching intently. He leaned forward slightly, ready to see what this new skill was.
Once all the water swirled into a wave, she swiped her staff as small balls of water shot out from the veil of water. The balls of water traveled faster than even her bubble beam, creating multiple large holes in the metal material. Her new blue eyes showed a look of annoyance as the dummy still didn't fall…But, it finally dropped. She blinked, and her eyes returned to normal as the veil of water dropped with a splash. Alaric felt another smile twitch at his lips, and his eyes sparkled. "Great Job Clorissa. Now, let's move on,"
Clorissa gave a small, polite bow before stepping aside. Her gaze flickered toward Alaric for a moment, and he offered her a thumbs-up. She responded with a subtle smile before returning her attention to the next test.
"Odessa, it's your turn, start when you're ready." She stepped inside, and the dummy sprang to life, as it seemed to wait for her next move. Her veins began to glow beneath her skin, as her speed was increased, blitzing towards the target.
The target began to move at unpredictable speeds, slightly catching Odessa off guard. But she tightened up and opened her palm, a small cut on her finger opening up and blood flowing out to form a small dagger in her palm. With a spin of her dagger, she blitzed forward and swiped down, but due to its erratic movements, it was able to dodge any of Odessa's attacks.
Alaric watched with slight awe both at Odessa's fast attacks and movements and this target was able to dodge those fast attacks that he was barely able to keep up with.
Odessa continued her onslaught, but realizing it wasn't working and decided to change up her attacks. As she swung her dagger, more blood flowed from the cut from her and reshaped her dagger into a blade, the extended range cut through parts of the target. Due to the stagger, she shifted herself and slammed a kick to its body causing it to fly backward. She spun the blade as it returned back into the cut on her finger. She reached for the katana on her back. She rushed forward again as the target recovered. She smirked and swung her katana, causing a large whirlwind to stir within the area, which raised the target into the air. With no way for it to dodge her attacks, she leaped into the air and spun in the air, the blade glowing a faint red. A large red slash cut through the air, slicing effortlessly through the target's body.
Alaric watched in awe, seeing Odessa in action was amazing; there was a reason she was one of the top three magic users in their class. But even her physical ability was off the charts!
When the whirlwind ended, she landed, and the destroyed body of the target hit the ground with a loud thud. She put her katana back in its sheath and turned towards Mr. Tensei. He gave a nod, "Excellent work Odessa. Now, let's move on." She walked back while glancing at Alaric. He gave a thumbs up as she gave a wink before taking her spot next to Clorsissa.
"Lastly, Jiro, you're up next." Alaric looked at that mysterious guy. He walked up, and every step he took, Alaric felt slight shocks in his arms and legs. He arrived at the area, and a large target stood tall.
'How was he gonna handle this one…?' Alaric wondered and he folded his arms, watching intensely.
With a snap of Mr Tensei's fingers, the large target roared to life. The target took off and raced towards Jiro. But he made no attempt to move. Instead, he took his hands from his pockets, and small bits of electricity sparked and danced at his fingers. It began to spread across his arms towards his entire body. With a clench of his fists, his eyes glowed white. Alaric's eyes widened at the sight, as thunderbolts began to strike the ground around him before they traced forward and continued to strike down continuously on the target.
Alaric clenched his fist, no wonder he felt like he recognized him…he didn't recognize the person, he recognized the system… 'He's the one that got it…The God of Lightning System…'
When he was in the subspace, before he got the Monkey King system, he was gonna get the Zeus system. But decided against it, thinking that the Monkey King was better. It was weird for him to see it being possessed by someone else. But, he wasn't going to let him overshadow him, his thing was to be the strongest, and that included proving that his system was better than the one he rejected.
Eventually, Robot Gamma was reduced to burnt pieces of metal once Jiro was finished with it. His dark hair fell back down and he lowered his head, his hands shoved back into his pockets, before turning away from the burning mess. Mr Tensai nodded, "Excellent work Jiro." Once he returned to his spot, the teacher turned to face the class. His webbed fingers waved out towards the mangled metal of the robots, "And so, class, this is what you'll learn inside my class." He closed his eyes and folded his arms behind his back, "Simply put, you'll learn to better harness your magical abilities and become the warriors you are meant to be."
Alaric nodded softly as Clorissa stepped next to him.
"As it's the first day, I'll let everyone get settled in, and tomorrow we'll begin our lessons, so be ready."
Alaric sighed softly as he turned towards Clorissa, "You did amazing out there!" He said as she looked towards him and smiled softly with a soft blush, "Thank you…"
"Hey Alaric!" He blinked and looked towards the sound of the voice. At his side, Odessa walked in his direction, hand on her hip. He turned fully towards her, "You did amazing as well Odessa!" He praised as she simply tapped her hip with a single finger.
Clorissa leaned over and waved, "Hello! I'm a friend of Alaric! My names Clorissa! What's yours? What's your system called? Do you like cute things?"
Odessa simply blinked at the girl's sudden questions, her face way of speaking catching her completely off guard. "You should probably give me a second to respond at least…"
Alaric laughed to himself, but his eyes turned towards the dark haired boy at the corner. His eyes narrowed slightly, and his finger twitched. He couldn't shake the feeling itself. After he got his system, he never even thought about the Zeus system after that… but in the face of it after all this time, he honestly silently wondered what would've happened had he chosen it?
And that's the problem. No matter what, he didn't regret it. And… well becoming stronger than that guy would prove he didn't make the wrong decision.. Even if the results would be more obvious. He looked down, his next period would be his mentor class, but if he remembered correctly, he didn't have one yet. The name would be listed near the class. So, does that mean he's off the rest of the day?
He honestly hoped it wouldn't take too long for his mentor to be assigned. For now, once this class ended, he hoped he could join Arthur for lunch. And who knows, maybe his mentor has been assigned already. He actually hasn't seen Arthur since he got here. He hopes he won't be too upset with him for that… he's still not used to keeping in contact with his friends. Anyway, if his mentor had been assigned, maybe he could tag along and watch. It's been some time after all, and he'd love to see how much Arthur has grown in terms of strength.
