Li Qing then ventured into a region dominated by a Rule-grade artifact. There, he discovered that this place had once been the academy of a Confucian genius from the previous era named Wang Riyue.
Although Wang Riyue belonged to the Confucian tradition, his unwavering righteousness and conduct deviated too much from the norms—even within his own sect. Thus, when he and his academy were besieged by demonic cultivators, the Confucian faction offered only token aid.
Upon entering, Li Qing found that the entire academy had become trapped in a rule-bound temporal loop, repeating endlessly the day it was destroyed.
After breaking through this cycle of reincarnation, Wang Riyue and his academy were resurrected in the present age. By sharing his knowledge and ideals, Li Qing successfully persuaded Wang Riyue to join his cause—and even convinced him to re-enter the Confucian sect as a spy.
(This, too, was a preparatory step for future plans.)
