The door opened, and the room filled with familiar faces.
Lina entered first, her composure barely holding. Her elegant features were drawn, her eyes red-rimmed from crying. She walked to Bella's bedside and took her hand, her fingers trembling slightly as she held it.
"Welcome back, sweetheart," she said softly, her voice thick with emotion.
Bella squeezed her hand weakly. "Thank you, Mom."
Lina's eyes glistened. She leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to Bella's forehead. "You scared us. Don't ever do that again."
Alessandro stood behind her, his hand on Lina's shoulder, his expression filled with quiet relief. He didn't say anything but the way he looked at Bella spoke volumes.
Nonna shuffled in next, her cane tapping against the floor. She moved slowly, her old bones aching, but her eyes were sharp and bright. She sat on the edge of Bella's bed and patted her cheek with a wrinkled hand.
