Bella nodded immediately. "I remember."
Dr. Vance smiled. "Can you tell me?"
Bella's expression softened into a gentle smile. Her eyes became dreamy. "He was waiting for me." She looked up at Leo with eyes full of affection. "I walked toward him… and then we got married."
Dr. Vance nodded thoughtfully as he wrote something in his notes. "I see."
He looked up again. "Do you remember anything before meeting Leo?"
Bella frowned. She thought very hard. Her brow furrowed. She stared at the ceiling, then at her hands, then at the window. Several long seconds passed before she slowly shook her head. "No…"
Dr. Vance asked gently, "What about your childhood? Your parents? Your school? Your friends?"
Again, she slowly shook her head. "I don't remember."
Leo quietly lowered his gaze. His grip around her hand tightened almost imperceptibly.
