Chapter 317 - 317 - Null

*

She wonder how the owner would feel, about her digging her dirt caked heels across this flawless corridor floors. Though they probably wouldn't notice the difference, this castle has been invaded. According to those demons, humanity has almost ended. She might be the last on earth, it wasn't certain if there were others out there.

Then comes the basic question? What had attacked humanity? This should have been the height of human civilisation, magic was integrated into every aspect of society. Without the laws of physics in the way, they've achieved anything and everything. They were only a step away from space travel, the vast outer reaches of the cosmos are governed by their own laws different from physics and magic, and even that was about to be subverted.

Click after click, the echoes bouncing off the walls remind her of her own presence, in a castle that isn't hers. In someone else's home, doors left ajar... It's obvious what has happened hasn't it? Her thoughts slowed to a crawl and silenced, her eyes greet the final door. The one before the throne, the one she has seen so many times in her dreams. Was this where her memories had gone? They've been sent beyond time and space, all the way to the past. The magic that overloaded her mind, was one that sent her to the past. She was now in the zeroth year of the abundance calendar.

She will witness the start of a new era... And the end of humanity. It was these walls that returned her memories, and these walls that would take them. It is time for humanity for graduate.

She opens the door without pause, softly she stepped towards the throne. A familiar corpse layed across the backrest, eyes closed and skin pale like snow. If someone told her it was a ghost, she would believe it. Navy blue hair that reached her shoulders, eyelashes angled at a mischievous angle, a smile that never knew defeat. 'Arin, why did you reincarnate? Our time should have been over, I was never meant to touch the fruits of the future.'

A desolate soul belonging in the previous era, nothing more nothing less. Someone who is no one special, no one commendable. A being that swiped and clawed at the heavens only to be crushed, an insignificant ant not meant to be anything more than a pawn on the board. She dismissed her thoughts cursing the world. Always throwing her into something more inconvenient, more dangerous, more dreadful that it repulsed her being.

"Oblivion Magia, hornless king amalgamation." (Lastia)

"...!?" (Vinia)

Lastia is from the future, even if it's a marginal amount of information, she will utilise it to take the initiative. A space of dark red isolates Vinia, spreading in every conceivable direction. Vibrant cherry red motes of light floated faintly in the distance, illuminating this endless place. A magical girl stood in the centre of it all, her black dress and luscious locks of dark crimson hair stood out. An unnatural consequence, an anomaly against the world's order and the heavens. The magic density on her only climbed and climbed without end, drenching Vinia in sweat.

She had just finished a tough battle putting down the queen, where did a being of this level come from? Weren't all the other strongest warriors of this world gone in the war? Without hesitation, she wrapped herself in her own magic. A thin coating of blacklight emanated from her combat dress, repelling any and all matter, increasing her resistance to magic too. Sure enough, it all hit at once. A pillar of magic energy swallowed her whole, eroding away at her barrier at a frightening pace. She burns through more energy to replenish its durability, but it's futile.

In an Oblivion Magia, the user herself incurs almost no magic cost. She can keep up the explosive energy thrashing and threatening to rip Vinia apart for awhile.

"Don't underestimate... Me. Demon king, null, you will be felled." (Aster Keliuvinia,? )

"Is that so? 'null', did it all begin with me? No wonder I have no horns, but a demon king...? That's new." (Lastia)

Vinia's aura surged up, causing a tidal wave of black to overflow and spill through the execution pillar, hoping out of it she dusted the soot off her dress.

" Even so, I don't have room for error or mercy. " (Lastia)

Vinia is a different species from her. Arin is dead. Lastia is the last human. Civilisation had truly collapsed, then, was Vinia's species the successor of humanity? To go beyond that, did they... Reincarnate into a different species? Too much... There's too much useless information. The only thing she should be concerned with is battle with the one before her eyes, not dedicating her focus would be an insult otherwise. With a spin, her great sword materialised in her palms and she slammed her blade into Vinia. In her dainty arms, a black rapier receiving the full brunt of the great sword, only moving back an inch with her full body.

Putting strength into her arms, Lastia pressed against the rapier with her great sword, throwing Vinia's entire body into the dark sky. She jumped towards, readying another swing. Vinia reverses her grip and jammed her rapier under her feet, kicking towards the great sword swing with one leg while the other bends to preserve her posture, like climbing a wall with one leg and one hand.

Brilliant light scattered under the collision, but under a weaker posture Vinia was sent flying once more. 3 pillars of red light extend from different directions, causing air to heat up to the extremes before collapsing onto Vinia. If you tried to examine the pillars, there was no start or end, endlessly arching into the unobservably dark distance.

"{Wrath} - hyper condensed violence." (Vinia)

Material or immaterial, she rends through everything with the swing of her rapier, the slash pressure extends into distance and plasters a massive hole in the Oblivion Magia via conceptual means, revealing... A black spot. Even if there was a hole that reaches into reality, light isn't being let through, the Oblivion Magia was a subdimension and this one had shrunk them into a size smaller than light particles.

To preserve the size condition while bearing a hole meant the Oblivion Magia was still not done for, it was holding on. That move was still bad news, it could cut Lastia's soul in half. What would happen then? She isn't at the stage where she could casually regenerate a spiritual wound. For now, she'll do the opposite of assimilation. She'll deseminate existential information, signals identical to the genuine article would fool the enemy. After all she was separating herself from those genuine signals that her existence typically emits. {Envy} can serve as anchor points in reality for those signals, serving as a decoy for her.

Desemination was usually dangerous in reality, but the Oblivion Magia serves as an extension of her existence, in a way they haven't really separated which removed any risk.
