'That was not the first time I saw her crash out at the mention of going back to Douluo Dalu.'
Thought Huo Yuhao as he exited the master bathroom wearing a white bathrobe and drying his hair with a white towel.
Huo Yun'er was, of course, still showering much to his bewilderment. He joined her midway in her shower and still finished before her.
'Well, benefits of having shorter hair, I guess. Though that might change with how Kiana was vocal about growing my hair out.'
He threw the towel into the laundry basket as he made his way towards their walk-in closet to get dressed.
Huo Yun'er was a delicate topic for Yuhao, his reverse scale if you could call it that. In fact, one's own mother was a delicate topic for almost everyone specially boys.
Naturally, he noticed how she never mentions the topic of going back to Douluo Dalu or how she would shift the conversation whenever he brought it up.
How she would spend more time at her company building even though she didn't have to, as the company literally ran itself, just to avoid the topic entirely.
He, of course, knew why.
'She disliked her own world, no that would be an understatement. She borderline hated Douluo Dalu.'
'So much so that the mere thought of her stepping a single step back into it was so nauseating for her.'
He continued his trail of thought while dressing up.
Yuhao wore a pair of black dress pants paired with a long sleeve white shirt, fastening its diagonal black pankou knots and tucking the extra bits inside his pants.
Huo Yun'er had nothing in Douluo Dalu that was worth going back to. No family. No friends. No money. No connections.
Nothing.
An isolated life that was harming her on so many levels and to add insult to injury, her so called 'husband' left her with nothing but a dagger?
Why? What was she supposed to do with it? Kill herself?
It took her time and talking and meeting other people, people that she made friends with in the new mundane world, for her to realize how fucked up her relationship with Dai Hao, the White Tiger Duke, was.

Yuhao remembered her arriving home crying after a night out with her best friend, Kaya Houjou.
He was studying with Kiana in the living room when she suddenly arrived and started bawling her eyes out when she laid her gaze on him.
How she suddenly pulled him into a crushing mama bear hug.
How broken she felt.
How ugly and unsightly she thought she was.
How she kept apologizing to him for not being a good mother.
How disgusted she felt for harboring feelings for her own son.
How she hated herself for mistakes that were beyond her control.
It took him a while to realize what was happening.
Well, it was Kiana who investigated while Yun'er was bawling her eyes out in Yuhao's arms.
He remembered her storming out through the roof of the house and flying towards Yun'er's so called best friend. She looked like she was out for blood. It was his first time he saw the 『Herrscher of Finality』 in action.
He always thought that the first time she would take the wheel was when he was in mortal danger and couldn't cheat his way out of it or if he was chased down into a corner with no way out.
But no. The first time the 『Herrscher of Finality』 was fully mobilized was to protect his only family member.
She, unsurprisingly, came back shortly after; it didn't take her long using 『Herrscher of Sentience』 power to dive into the woman's mind to know what happened.
By then Yun'er was already sleeping in his arms, it was his first time observing her cry herself to sleep and it was a memory that would be engraved into his 'spiritual sea' for a long time.
What Kiana had found left him speechless.
Apparently, the talk with Kaya made Yun'er realize how her past relationship with her 'so called' husband was wrong on so many levels.
Yun'er already knew that, but she didn't know to what extent.
The more she listened, processed and compared to her own situation, the more she realized how fucked up her relationship was.
It was true that you are the last person to realize how your toxic relationship was destroying you from the inside out.
Huo Yuhao was of course bewildered but for all the wrong reasons.
'That normal woman had done more for mother's emotional development in one night than I had done in the past two years!'
He, of course, had nothing but gratitude for the woman; it just rubbed him the wrong way that he couldn't help Yun'er as much as she did.
He and Kiana were already working on Yun'er's emotional development journey, but alas with all their complex powers and divine might both of them were emotionally and socially inept.
Yuhao's strategy was simple. Have Yun'er complete her revenge against the Duchess of White Tiger and her husband and she would definitely feel better after. That was what he would do if he was in her shoes.
Kiana's strategy was even simpler, burn down your enemies and keep moving forward. Simple and easy.
As expected of Kiana Yeager.
Needless to say, both of them were keeping the Kaslana bloodline proud with how socially inept both of them were. Truly a Kaslana without his or her external brain was dangerous. All they knew was aura farming and hype moments.
You know. Type shit.

The sound of the bathroom door opening brought him out of his thoughts.
He glanced up to see Huo Yun'er exiting the bathroom in her bathrobe, her beautiful hair still wet and sticking to her head. She made her way towards the vanity table and stood in front of its mirror.
She started combing her hair with her fingers that were now coated in her signature crimson flames, drying up her damp hair and making it shine brilliantly.
"Like what you see?"
She said in a sing song voice as she looked at him from the mirror, bringing him out of his staring.
"Indeed."
He nodded as he continued watching her comb her beautiful hair.
He really liked it and he knew she liked that he liked it judging by her cute giggles and the joyful smile on her face that brightened the room.
"Give me five minutes and I will be done."
She looked at him through the mirror as she did the final touches on her hair and put the strands back in their place.
"Okay, I will wait for you downstairs."
He got up from the bed and made his way towards the door only pausing when she spoke again. He already knew that it would take more than five minutes, so he might as well chill downstairs with Usagi.
"Aww, you are not going to watch?"
She said in a needy voice with a small pout on her face, causing him to look back again at her. He knew that she was teasing him, but…
'Two can play that game.'
He made his way towards her and stopped just in front of her, towering over her. He stared at her dilated pupils and felt her hot breath on his face as he brought it closer to her face.
'Is he finally going to…'
Yun'er's unholy thoughts were brought to a halt as she felt him grab strands of her hair towards his mouth and kiss them all while maintaining eye contact with her.
"I would rather you surprise me with your outfit, my lady."
He let go of the beautiful lines of fate (her red hair) and winked at her before exiting the room, leaving a blushing mess called Huo Yun'er behind.

'High attack, low defense. That basically summarizes her flirting game.'
Yuhao laughed as he made his way downstairs while shaking his head.
'I mean what did she expect when she flirts with a Kaslana.'
Say what you want about the Kaslana bloodline.
How they can't cook to save their lives, how they need to be accompanied by an external brain most of the time, how they solve everything with violence.
But there was one truth that can't be denied and that was…
A Kaslana always pulls absolute baddies.
Their rizz game was just so high. It was one of the first lessons that Kiana taught him during their spars.
