By the time Lucavion and Mireilla reached the table, Toven had already managed to turn whatever discussion had preceded them into an argument.
"That still counts."
Caeden sat across from him with both hands wrapped around a warm cup, his posture steady and his expression carrying the particular patience of someone who had already explained himself twice, recognized that neither attempt had accomplished much, and reluctantly accepted that a third explanation had become inevitable.
"It does not."
"It solved the problem."
"It changed the problem."
"That sounds remarkably similar to solving it."
Mireilla pulled out one of the remaining chairs and sat down. "It sounds remarkably similar to cheating."
Toven twisted toward her immediately. "See, that is because neither of you appreciates creativity."
