Chapter 434 - CHAPTER 434 - Careless Peter Parker

"This isn't working, Makkari. I've been here for a long time, and I have no way to get any information. Every day I just control these people pretending to work, work, and more work. I've gained nothing."

Druig said to Makkari with some anger in his heart. This anger wasn't directed at her, but at his own helplessness.

Thousands of years ago, they were humanity's saviors, the Eternals, servants of the Celestials. Druig's ability could even make humans obey his will. But now he felt frustrated and had gained nothing.

After hearing Druig's words, Makkari quickly used sign language to persuade him. According to Ajak's orders, they only needed to maintain surveillance. There was no need to obtain intelligence at all costs.

The opponent was terrifying. Provoking them proactively might get them killed, like Sprite.

Seeing Makkari's signs, Druig patted her shoulder and said, "I understand what you mean. So I'll try not to provoke the other superheroes. We'll find an opportunity in New York to target this one: Spider-Man."

Makkari looked at Druig's chosen target and signed again, asking: 'Spider-Man's abilities are among the best of the superheroes. If we attack him, it might alert the person behind the scenes.'

"Don't worry, Makkari. If I act, they won't notice. With my ability, as long as I have a chance to get close, I can control Spider-Man in an instant, invade his mind, and get all the information we want. I might even be able to infiltrate the Super Hero Team and find out about Sprite."

Druig persuaded her gently. He didn't actually have deep feelings for Sprite. Though they had been companions for a long time, there were plenty of internal conflicts.

He just wanted to gather intelligence, not control a bunch of monkeys performing in a zoo every day.

"We'll act outside. Spider-Man loves to do heroic deeds. Using my ability to create an opportunity is foolproof..."

Druig looked at Spider-Man's ability description and said decisively. Bitten by a specially bred spider, causing a genetic mutation, gaining some of a spider's abilities.

This kind of superhero had no resistance to mind control. As long as he could make contact, Spider-Man was done for.

"And we have you, Makkari. If things go wrong, you can use your speed to get us away."

Having made his decision, Druig held Makkari's hand so she could no longer dissuade him. As long as the plan went smoothly, he would soon get more information.

Having used his identity as a god of humanity for over a thousand years, Druig was probably the Eternal least willing to accept equality with humans, let alone the fact that Peter Parker was just a human who had been bitten by a spider.

Inside S.H.I.E.L.D.

Thor didn't wake up until the third day. If he hadn't been breathing, Nick Fury would have thought he was dead.

"How did this guy get here? Did you release him?"

After waking up, Thor came to the conference room and saw Loki sitting on the other side.

"We haven't released him. He's still wearing your Asgardian restraints. That should be fine, right?"

Thor glanced over and saw that was indeed the case. He sat down on the other side and said, "I specifically found these for Loki. You can rest assured."

"Instead of worrying about me, you should worry about someone else, Thor of Asgard. You only slept for three days, heh heh~"

Loki's mockery made Thor's face fall. This was probably the biggest embarrassment he had faced since coming to Earth. He had confidently gone to cause trouble for someone, but without seeing anything, he was knocked out for three days.

"Gentlemen, I hope you can sit down and talk properly. S.H.I.E.L.D. has a lot of work. If you want to argue, I can arrange time for you in advance."

Nick Fury said. He hadn't realized there were so many extraterrestrial forces on Earth. He had recently documented all the forces that could potentially threaten Earth.

The development of Phase Two weapons was necessary. Besides that, he also planned to recommend to the International Security Council that S.H.I.E.L.D. be authorized to purchase Stark's Arc Reactor. Without the Tesseract, the Arc Reactor should be the most suitable energy source for weapons.

"Mr. Thor, do you have anything to say about what happened back then?"

Nick Fury interrupted the escalating argument between the two.

"I didn't see anything."

Thor sat down and shrugged. Although it was embarrassing, he wouldn't stoop to lying.

"I was getting close to the building you mentioned, then suddenly felt a kick, and lost consciousness."

Nick Fury asked again, "You didn't see anything at all?"

"I didn't see anything. I wouldn't lie about something like this. And don't doubt me; I can tell whether I was kicked or not. The person kicked me in the chest..."

Thor said slowly. He didn't know why a single kick could knock him out for three days without causing injury.

"Mr. Loki, do you have anything to say?"

Hearing Nick Fury's words, Loki raised the chains on his hands. Until these things were removed, he didn't want to say anything.

Nick Fury and Thor exchanged glances. Then Thor stepped forward to remove Loki's chains. Besides Thor, there were also Steve and others in the room. If Loki had any bad intentions, he would probably get beaten down by the group.

After the chains were removed, Loki shook his wrists, then used magic to create an image of Hyuga Mirai as he had seen him.

Nick Fury pressed, "Only this?"

"My brother here didn't even see a face before he passed out."

As he spoke, Loki didn't forget to mock Thor. However, he didn't reveal anything about the scepter's stone or his purpose on Earth. He still hadn't given up. If the opportunity arose, he would still try to retrieve the Tesseract and summon the Chitauri army.

Even though the Chitauri army was useless, it would allow him to contact Thanos.

Nick Fury rubbed his head. They had expended considerable effort, but only got a likeness of the person.

"Natasha, organize the intelligence."

With that, Nick Fury left the conference room. But as he walked, he kept holding a communicator, wondering whether to call her in.

"Help~!"

"He..."

Peter was driving home when he suddenly encountered many people fighting in the street. The brawl was spreading, even blocking the road.

"Hey, buddy, what's going on?"

Peter opened his window and quickly asked a person running past his car.

"I don't know. A lot of people are fighting up ahead. They have guns!"

With that, the passerby quickly broke free from Peter's grasp and fled. Nearly a hundred people in a chaotic gunfight – only a fool would stick around to watch.

Hearing this, Peter quickly got out of the car, ran to a deserted alley, changed into his Spider-Man suit, climbed up a wall to a rooftop, and observed the situation from above.

"Office workers, women, even students? God, how did they start fighting?"

Before Peter Parker could think further, he saw an Asian man with a gun to his head, in immediate danger. So Peter quickly jumped down from the building.

Thwip, thwip, thwip.

Several strands of webbing shot out, binding the hands of everyone holding guns at the street corner. Then Peter jumped in front of the Asian man, blocking the gun barrel, and asked, "Buddy, why are you fighting? And using guns..."

Before Peter finished, he felt the person behind him place a hand on him. The next second, his instincts screamed that something was wrong.

"Thank you, Spider-Man."

Upon touching Peter Parker, Druig instantly activated his ability and controlled Spider-Man's mind.

Meanwhile, Wanda, Pietro, and even 18 all received feedback from the Spider-Man suit.

"Detection: Peter Parker has lost consciousness. Location: ..."
