Chapter 25 - Part 29

Maestro was highly concerned seeing Rex above him. Rex had covered his right fist in chaos energy then winded his arm back. Maestro's body tensed up knowing that he couldn't avoid the incoming attack. He was then struck in the face by Rex. Punching him downwards, slamming him directly into the skull of the devil's skeleton. Afterwards, the chaos energy from the attack had caused an explosion. Which destroyed the skull completely. Maestro ended up rolling out of the smoke cloud. Tumbling across the ground.

He tried to get up, but had then realized he was too injured to do so. He looked up at the smoke cloud as it starts to fade away. The chaos demon's red eyes pierced through the smoke sending a chill down Maestro's spine. Rex then walks forward, slowly approaching him as he smiles menacingly. Maestro started to feel his anxiety rising. In fact, it rose faster than what Maestro could process. Before he knew it he was panicking. His body was shivering, his heart was pounding, and he himself was terrified. Absolutely scared of dying a second time. As Rex approached him, Maestro couldn't think of anything else he could do. Even if he did think of anything, he wouldn't have the strength, or energy to pull it off.

It was at that moment, Maestro started to receive a headache. Unlike the ones prior, this one had hurted the most. All he could do was ball up, and cover his ears. The devil was screaming loud within his head. These wasn't screams of anger, disappointment, or disgust. It was screams of pure pain. The screams were so loud, Maestro couldn't even concentrate. However, he started hearing something in the distance. Screaming other than his, and the devil. He rolled over to see Rex screaming as well. Holding his own head tightly with both hands. Maestro was confused, but couldn't really form proper thoughts due to the agonizing screams of the devil. Although, what Maestro didn't realize, was that Rex was also being effected by the devil's screams. He himself was also receiving a painful headache.

Long ago, once the imp demon walked through the flames of the fire wall, he was mentally confronted by the devil's voice. Telling him that someone will finish what he started. That him being defeated will not stop his legacy. The imp demon started to get angry by the devil's voice. He tells him that he didn't care, and that he'll purge whoever the devil sends. Laughter rose from the devil. He laughs loudly within the imp demon's mind. He angrily yells out to get out of his head. The devil continued to laugh then he made an offer. He told him to feed someone a devil bone. Only then he will leave. The imp demon grunted in anger. He stated that the devil was in no position to negotiate. However, the young demon knew nothing else would convince the devil otherwise. So he agreed with a displeased attitude. The imp demon sat on top of the devil's skeleton, and waited.

Rex angrily told the devil to shut up multiple times while still holding his head in pain. As the screaming continued, the headache for the both of them got worse. The two began to scream just as loud as the devil. Then suddenly, everything went dark. The screaming had stopped. The headaches had stopped as well. The two were confused, but they were finally able to gather their thoughts. They looked around to see nothing, but pitch blackness. Just dark silence.

Maestro had compared this scenario, and feeling to what Razor did to him. Stating that he was able to do something similar with his powers. Rex then suggested that this must be some mental space then. It was then he realized that Maestro had met the wolf. He asked him what business he had with that hell hound reject. Maestro didn't want to answer at first, but he gave in. He responded that he helped him recover his memories. Rex stood silent to think to himself. Thinking of Makeshift. He then chuckled, and stated that he still made the dumb decision of coming back. His sarcastic tone angered Maestro. He yelled out that it wasn't his choice.

Afterwards, flames by a large amount surrounded the two. Maestro look around in confusion while Rex seemed more annoyed. The flames travelled to the front of the two then formed the skeletal head of the devil. Anger filled his tone. He yelled out that they ruined everything. Repeatedly calling them utter fools. Rex's only reaction is to laugh at him. He then asked sarcastically if the devil ran out of bones to haunt the living. Taunting the devil even more. Maestro was confused by what he meant, but shortly after he had a suspicion. However, knowing Rex that suspicion had to be true.

The devil's flames rise higher as he gets even more angry. Rex suggested that he calmed down. He doesn't know how long he could keep that up. The devil yelled out as loud as he could. Until he heard a crack in his skull. The flames start to die down as his skull cracks further. He was still angry, but his tone had softened. He stated that it wasn't supposed to end like this. He was supposed to rule through Maestro. Rex's smile had dropped as he tells the devil to just shut up, and die. The devil was about to rebut, but was interrupted by Maestro.

He was laughing which shocks both Rex, and the devil. He states that he's happy. He doesn't have to hear that annoying voice of his ever again. He continues to laugh, and after staring at him for a second, Rex starts to laugh too. They both laugh at the devil as he crumbles away. The flames completely disappear, and the area is back to normal. Maestro was astonished. It had been a while since he had clear thoughts. The best part was the relief of knowing he wouldn't receive anymore headaches. He then gathers what strength he built up to rise to a knee. After taking a deep breath, he looks around. His suspicion, and Rex's statement were in fact true. All of the devil bones were destroyed.
