The layout in John Li's mind displayed a few more interfaces, and a full-body projection of himself appeared. There was a distinct golden light in his eyes.
He squeezed his right hand in the air, and a brand-new iron rod flew over from the iron frame on the side.
Golden eyes? Let me see what they can do.
"John! Come down to eat, and I'll take you to school soon!!" Aunt Jenny shouted from downstairs.
"Coming!" John's eyes widened. The iron rod in his hand broke into two pieces, and with a gentle swipe of his hands, the two iron pieces turned into circular weights, which he fixed to his calves. He grabbed a new coat, put on his schoolbag, and hurried downstairs.
Aunt Jenny was still busy in the kitchen, and Uncle George was already sitting at the dining table, flipping through today's newspaper.
"Jenny, John, the newspaper says two monsters attacked Manhattan last night and killed hundreds of people. It's terrible, and it's really unsafe outside now." Uncle George put down the newspaper and patted John on the shoulder. "John, you can't go out alone at night. If you need anything, tell us and I'll go with you!"
"George, John has been very independent since he was a child. I'm not worried about him. He's very responsible and won't run around!" Jenny came out with plates of fried eggs, ham, and bread hot dogs, enough for five people.
John patted his stomach and said obediently, "Don't worry, I won't go out unnecessarily. I've picked up several modeling orders for hundreds of dollars! Uncle George, Aunt Jenny, I'm hungry, so I'll start eating!"
He grabbed two slices of bread and ate them with ham and fried eggs, as if the previous snacks didn't exist, devouring the food like a hungry young man.
George watched John eat. "John, it's good to have a hobby, but don't overwork yourself. You're only ten years old. We don't earn much, but we have no problem raising you!"
"Even though John eats a lot, he earns as much as us, right John?" Jenny smiled, touching John's head.
George and Jenny were an ordinary couple—a company employee and an electrical engineer—who fell in love and got married. They had been married for ten years but never had children due to fertility issues. On their way to an adoption home, they found five-year-old John, who had fainted from hunger. Believing he was a gift from God, they took him home and have treated him as their son ever since.
They still called him John, though.
John continued eating bread. Even after two slices, his stomach still felt empty. All the food he consumed, except for what was needed to maintain physical movement, converted into energy and rushed to his brain.
This energy, combined with metal, could slowly improve his control, a training method he figured out. Therefore, the metal on John's calves was slowly being absorbed.
A warm energy slowly soaked into his eyes, and the progress of the 'Golden Eye' enhancement changed from 8% to 9% in such a short period.
John, eating like a bottomless pit, finished the rest of the food, picked up his small school bag, and Uncle George took him to school.
George drove down two streets when Jenny saw a young woman on the side of the road walking toward the elementary school with a little boy. "Hey, that's my colleague, May!"
She drove over happily. "Hey, May! Where are you going? Who's this baby?"
"Hey, Jenny! This is my sister's son, who's living with me now. His name is Peter. Peter, say 'Hello' to Aunt Jenny!" May said, hugging Peter.
"Oh, baby, you are so cute! What's your name?"
"Peter, Peter Parker," the little boy whispered, shrinking his neck.
Jenny opened the car door. "May, come in, let's go together. John also goes to that school. John can play with Peter!"
John looked at the six-year-old, first-grade boy beside him and thought, 'Oh my God, Aunt May and Peter Parker! I met Spider-Man as a kid!'
Seeing little Peter looking scared, John grinned and extended his hand. "Hi, my name is John. I'm ten years old and in fourth grade. You can call me Brother John! I'll take you to school!"
Peter turned to look at John, and the two little guys instantly bonded.
...
In the evening, John lay on his bed happily. His mind was full of thoughts about Spider-Man. "Peter Parker! It's Spider-Man. I'm so lucky!"
Two pieces of metal slipped out from under his trousers and flew into the scrap metal box, inexplicably breaking into several pieces.
John waved his hand, and a small piece of steel flew out from the iron shelf in the room. This piece of steel with a Brinell hardness of 500 felt like plasticine in his hand. After a while, he molded it into a humanoid shape and carefully sculpted it. Within minutes, a metal model of Spider-Man was complete.
It was beautiful, with a smooth and comfortable touch, as if cast. "If I sold it, it would fetch at least one hundred dollars!"
He opened his bookcase, which was filled with various metal models, many of which were for sale, while others were keepsakes, like this Spider-Man and a Mark 1 metal model.
After closing the cabinet door, he tried to calm himself. The progress of the 'Golden Eye' enhancement had reached 49% after a day of hard work, but the two pieces of iron on his legs were now fully absorbed.
John pulled out another piece of iron, placed his hands on it, and countless golden lights emerged, slowly merging into his body and rushing to his eyes.
From the depths of his pupils, a small golden light appeared, slowly blooming until it filled his entire eyeball. When he opened his eyes, they shot out two feet of light, which then gradually dissipated.

John's eyes had changed slightly. He had not turned on the light in his room, and the sky was slowly getting dark, making the room very dim. But to John, it was as clear as day.
Looking out, it was like daytime, with night having no effect on his vision.
But there was more. With a slight focus, a little golden light appeared in his eyes, and the surrounding walls seemed to disappear, allowing him to see the people in the neighboring houses.
'Uncle Mike next door is cooking? I always thought Aunt Julia did the cooking!'
'Hey, isn't that my classmate Jimmy? Why is he rolling on the floor?'
'Oh, is Aunt Aida hiding her private money?'
'Sister Debbie is doing her homework as soon as she got home!'
'Uh, Aunt Donna doesn't seem to be sleeping next to Uncle Fitz. Terrible!'
As John looked around at his neighbors, he realized that the Golden Eye not only provided night vision but also enhanced his field of vision. He could see clearly even a hundred meters away.
Suddenly, he was taken aback. "That is... someone is robbing with a gun!"
