Wufu, covered in snowflakes, leaped down from the rooftop and landed in her own courtyard, seeing Ah Jiu standing under the porch with a large cloak in hand.
"You're back." Ah Jiu walked over, draped the cloak over her shoulders, and brushed the snowflakes off her head, saying, "Let's talk inside; the snow is getting heavy."
"Hmm."
With his arm around her shoulders, Wufu entered the room, a wave of warmth hit her. Besides a few charcoal braziers, there was a medicine pot simmering on a Small Red Furnace.
She took off the cloak and warmed her hands by the brazier to chase away the chill, then sat on the beauty couch by the eastern window, accepting the tea Ah Jiu handed over.
The tea was warm longan and red date tea. She took a sip, the sweet flavor slid down her throat, warming her stomach.
"The herbal dish is still simmering, rest a bit before eating; it's all vegetarian ingredients, won't interfere with our mourning," Ah Jiu added.
