The others all quickly climbed out of their cars as well, surrounding their targets, pointing guns at them, with many having evil grins spread across their faces.
Seeing them with their weapons out, Oliver clenched his fists in anger. He couldn't stand these fucking assholes messing with him and his loved ones.
He wanted to beat the shit out of all of them and send them flying around like ragdolls. But at the moment, he knew that he wouldn't be able to do much against these men. Not while they had weapons pointed at their heads.
"Everyone, please stay calm," he said, his voice sounding very calm despite how much fury was coursing through his veins right now. Then he looked towards the driver and asked, "Did you bring the weapons with you?"
The driver shook his head. "No sir, unfortunately, we weren't expecting an ambush from some dangerous gangs, and the security team wasn't prepared for such an occasion."
"Shit... We're screwed!" Linda cursed under her breath. "Why are these guys attacking us anyway? What the hell is going on here?!"
Oliver thought to himself for a moment and then remembered the man he had beaten back at the club earlier and figured it out. "Maybe the man I beat up belonged to some sort of gang, or perhaps he had hired these guys to retaliate against me? Either way, that means they came specifically after me."
His girlfriend, Maya, looked at Oliver in shock. She didn't think things would turn out like this at all! They were just trying to enjoy themselves, and now, there are guys holding guns on them. What should they do in such a situation? How could things get so out of control so fast!?
Maya had only seen stuff like this in movies or TV shows but never expected something like it could occur in real life, much less happen to her and Oliver. It was terrifying and made her feel like she was being trapped in a nightmare.
Meanwhile, the leader looked at the group and said, "Come on out now! Unless you want to get shot where you stand!"
Everyone froze as they heard those words. They couldn't believe that the man was seriously threatening to kill them if they didn't obey him. This situation was so messed up!
"Don't worry, everyone." Oliver reassured them. "These thugs won't be able to kill us while we're inside the car. The windows are bulletproof, and the doors are made from strong metal. They won't be able to penetrate it even if they try."
The security in the other two cars also reassured Ron and other occupants inside of the cars with them. "Everyone, please remain calm and don't panic. We have activated the emergency alarms, alerting our headquarters about the attack. Help will be on the way very soon, so please just wait until then."
Although the security team sounded confident about that, Ron couldn't help himself from trembling in fear. What if they came too late? What would happen to them in that case? Would these people really shoot them dead without hesitation if they didn't do as they were told?
Seeing that no one was coming out yet, the leader snarled, "I guess you want to do this the hard way, don't you? I didn't want to do this, but you forced me to!" He raised his gun in the air and pulled the trigger, shooting off a single round in warning. "You better come out now, or else I swear, I won't hesitate to kill all of you fuckers!"
Everyone flinched in their seats when they heard a gunshot ring out from outside. That sound alone scared them senseless, knowing that death was near for them.
"Dammit... Is this how you guys want to play? Fine! Have it your way then!" The leader growled when he realized no one was coming out even after being given a warning. "Shoot down everyone inside the car!"
As soon as those words left his mouth, the men all pointed their guns at the vehicles and prepared to fire upon them.
Upon seeing this, Oliver pulled Linda and Maya into his arms and had them put their heads against his chest so that they didn't have to see what was going to happen next.
Just as their guns were about to go off, they heard the roaring sound of a helicopter approaching in the distance. It grew louder and louder until it reached right above them, hovering above the scene like a hawk waiting to dive for prey.
Then a bright light illuminated the entire area, temporarily blinding everyone who looked at it.
"What the hell is that?!" The leader cried out in surprise.
Several men standing next to him also cursed out loud as they were blinded by the sudden brightness coming from the helicopter.
Then, suddenly, they heard loud booming sounds echoing out of nowhere and gunshots raining down from above them.
In a blink of an eye, multiple thugs standing around the cars dropped dead, one by one, from gunshots hitting their marks with deadly precision.
Panic broke loose within their group as they witnessed their fellow gang members dying in front of them.
The men scattered and ran for cover behind their cars, trying to dodge the gunfire from above while returning fire with their pistols.
However, none of their bullets seemed to have any effect on the helicopter hovering above them. Instead, they were the ones getting shot at by the men onboard the copter.
One by one, members of the gang fell dead from bullet wounds. In the midst of all that chaos, the leader was also shot and fell to the ground with blood pooling rapidly around him.
He lay on the cold pavement with his breathing growing ragged from the massive amount of blood loss. "What's... happening? How did things end up like this...?" He mumbled as he felt his consciousness fading away, unable to comprehend how things had turned against him so badly.
It was supposed to be a simple revenge mission where he would make the fucker suffer and take him to the boss. But now, he was on the verge of death, bleeding out onto the ground as his vision grew dark.
Soon enough, his life ended as he breathed his last breath and became another corpse lying on the road, joining the rest of his dead gang members around him.
Within just a minute, all the thugs were shot down without mercy, and the helicopter turned its spotlight toward Oliver's car before it descended from the sky, landing onto the highway.
Two men and a woman stepped out of the copter, carrying assault rifles as they approached Oliver and the others inside the vehicle.
Upon seeing them, Oliver breathed a sigh of relief and smiled warmly. "So glad to see you, Elle."
The woman smiled back and lowered her gun before approaching the car and opening the door. "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting, Mr. Oliver. But I didn't expect we'd be doing the rescue mission when you were just supposed to enjoy your little party."
The young man shrugged his shoulders and gave Maya and Linda a pat on their backs. "We're safe now, ladies. You don't have to worry anymore."
