Chapter 327 - Restraints

Chapter 327 Restraints

"Oh, is that so? Well, my apology still stands," the man said from his cot. As he tried to sit up and look around to get a better sense of his surroundings, he found himself unable to move. Confused, he looked down and was baffled by his situation. "Why am I bound in these restraints?" he asked. He struggled against them in an attempt to free himself.

Aleshia looked at him and said plainly, "Oh, this was for your own safety." She struggled to find the right words, as it wasn't a typical situation. She tried to explain further. "Your body has been weakening for years because you haven't been able to move properly, leading to atrophy and weakness. The last time you woke up, you tried to leave the cot, but your body wasn't ready, and you ended up getting injured. The extent of your injuries from walking just a short distance was surprising. That is why we decided to tie you up as you are now to prevent it from happening again."

He nodded, accepting her explanation, but still posed a request, "Could I be freed from these bindings now if I promise not to get out of the cot?"

Aleshia pretended to ponder the question, placing her hands on her chin while internally consulting Lucia whether they should agree to remove the bindings. "What do you think?" she asked. "Do you believe he would be okay without them and not harm himself?"

Lucia shifted on Aleshia's head. After a moment to think, she answered, "He looks and sounds sane enough. It also doesn't seem like he will try anything like what he did before, so I think it's fine to release him from his binds."

Taking Lucia's testimony into account, Aleshia finally settled on a decision and announced, "Sure, we'll release you from your binds. Give me a moment, and I'll get them for you."

"You can release your spell," Aleshia said aloud. A moment after her command, the binds disappeared.

"Thank you," the man said. "I suppose I should introduce myself; I don't think I did the last time I woke. My name is Nathaniel. What might yours be?" he asked.

Aleshia refilled his cup before placing it on the table nearby. "I'm Aleshia, and the one who released you is Lucia. She is here somewhere," she replied.

Nathaniel propped himself up in bed and scanned the room. He was confused about where the other person could be. "I don't see the person you mentioned. They must either be really good at hiding, or maybe I'm still not right in the head."
