The distance began to close faster.
Inside the Dreadlight, Xu Qianghua was still following the blue lights toward the cryogenic operations room.
Elder Han walked beside him, while Juren followed closely behind, occasionally glancing at the damaged panels along the corridor.
The ship had become slightly quieter after the Xu fleet began supporting its hull. Some of the constant grinding noises had stopped, though the lights still flickered whenever power shifted between systems.
Juren noticed the difference.
"Your people have already started?"
"Yes," Xu Qianghua replied. "They are holding the damaged sections together from outside. Whether that will be enough depends on what we find here."
Juren nodded but said nothing more.
He had relied on the ship's failing systems for so long that having outsiders take over part of the work felt strange.
He was relieved that the hull was receiving support, but he also understood that the Dreadlight was slowly passing out of his control.
