Chapter 13): Sneak Attack

"How am I supposed to react? I mean, sure your family has done some things and are rich, but I don't care about any of that, I like you for you. To me you are just still Love." He said with a smile while bringing her in close and hugging her, she didn't even hesitate as she returned the hug.

"Well, I am just happy that you aren't running off into the hills because of this information." Love said with a smile.
Joe smiled back but his eyes got blurry, he began to realize he lost to much blood as he hadn't properly fixed his finger, he needed to lie down but was to dizzy to move, "Love, while I am loving holding you in my arms, I really need to go do something seeing as I think I am losing to much blood." Joe admitted.
Love pulled back and looked at him closely, she could also see that he was paler than usual, "Why not just go to the hospital then, it is really obvious that you need to go before you pass out from blood loss."
Joe really wanted to go, he really did, but he wouldn't have all the money until tomorrow so he couldn't get the tip of his finger back yet, he didn't know how to explain this to her though. Not that he wasn't willing to share his secrets with her, but he also didn't want to blurt them all out in case it didn't work between them.
"I...I am waiting for my friend to calm down as he took the tip of my finger after cutting it. When he is in his right mind again, I can go get it fixed." Joe explained since it was the only thing he could think of at the moment.
Love growled but nodded her head, "Well make sure you get it taken care of sooner rather than later. I don't want a call in the middle of the night that you died because the loss of blood."
He chuckled, "Whoa calm down there Love, who says you would be the first they would call?"
She blushed at that then hit his arm as she took her bag and began to walk towards the front door, "Who else would be there for you? I am the only person in your life at the moment after all."
He smirked as he opened the door for her, "Not true, I have friends. Even if you haven't met them yet."
He noticed her smile grow as he said yet, which he knew that she would like as it implied that he was willing to put her into his life more. Which he had no trouble doing, Love was a crazy girl, but she was also loyal, it wasn't her who effected their relationship in the show, it was mainly Joe.
Leaning down he kissed her lips hard, he was glad this ended different than what happened in the show, because if it was anything like that she would have been storming out of the apartment. He was glad to see she was leaving with a smile rather than a frown this time.
Joe didn't sleep peacefully that night, instead he tossed and turned because he kept ending up lying on his finger and hurting it in the process. He ended up needing to change his sheets that night as some parts of it ended up having blood stains when the wound reopened.

"So, you and my sister huh?" Ellie asked as she fell into step next to him as he was walking out of the
Joe saw a smirk on her face as he looked up from his phone as he was messaging Jasper to meet him at the storage lock up, "You know, this is why I avoided you when I dropped her off. I figured you would see it as more than it was, did you grill your sister too?"
"Yes, I did. She brushed it off too as nothing more than you giving her a ride back from the party. I saw the smile on her face though when you dropped her off, there has to be more than that." Ellie said while nudging him with a smile.
"And that is exactly what happened. Nothing more or less. I am dating someone at the moment, and I am not a cheater." Joe explained as he walked out the gate while getting a confirmation text from Jasper who said he would be there in twenty minutes.
Ellie huffed but she couldn't say anything else as he got into his jeep and took off, he was more worried about getting his finger back than he was dealing with Ellie at the moment. Sure, he was fond of the girl, but that didn't mean that he also didn't enjoy a functioning finger.
Speeding just a little he made it to his storage and saw Jasper waiting outside, with a relieved breath he got out and walked over to the man, "Hey Jasper, glad you could make it. Do you have my--"
Joe was cut off as Jasper smiled while opening his jacket showing the finger, but Joe also saw the butt of a gun in his holster too. He was slightly nervous seeing it but he brushed it off, "Now, do you have my money?" Jasper asked his smile not so kind.
Joe nodded, "Yeah, but I wasn't going to carry it on me, and risk being robbed. So, I put it here in my storage facility, come on."
Seeing as he was friendly and Jasper didn't see him as a threat, the bigger man followed him to his storage where Joe opened it and made his face blank as Jasper walked in. Flipping the switch, he saw the look on Jasper's face as he took in the box where Will was at the moment.
Will noticing the light stood up and looked at the two, "What...is this?" Jasper asked turning back towards Joe who smiled while keeping his back towards the wall as he slid something out his pocket.
"That would be Will. The man who owes you two hundred thousand dollars, well at this point one hundred and fifty. I figured you two should talk this out rather than me having to pay you any more money." As Joe explained that he kept his eyes on the cooler where his finger was being stored.
Jasper chuckled some, "Well, while this is all fine and dandy, it has nothing to do with me. Someone is going to--"
Joe struck at that moment since Jasper turned his back to Joe so that he could look at Will who was watching the two without saying a word. Taking the syringe that he had in his back pocket, Joe stuck it into Jasper's neck since his back was turned and he got him by surprise.
Jasper struggled for a moment reaching for his gun, but the horse tranquilizer that Joe was using was strong, so within moments he was out like a light on the floor. Joe took the cooler off his body the moment he was down on the ground, by his estimations she had three hours until his finger would be no good.
Setting it to the side he got to work on moving Jasper's body, he took some of the ropes and chains from the shelf on the side and began to tie the man up. The tranquilizer wouldn't keep him down forever so he would make sure that when he woke up, he wouldn't be able to move and cause chaos.
"Oh no! What are you doing! He is tied to some really bad people; you should just let him go!" Will shouted while panicking in the glass box.
Will for the first time saw Joe get angry and jumped back even if he was safe behind the glass, "SHUT THE HELL UP WILL! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, I COULD HAVE HANDLED THIS DIFFERENTLY BUT YOU MADE THE SITUATION MORE DIFFUCLT THAN IT NEEDED TO BE. Now, Jasper will just need to hope he can survive my next game."
Joe and Will didn't speak after that, Joe made sure that Jasper was secure along with duct tape around his mouth before he left, it was time to get his finger reattached.
