From behind the five charging thieves, two men slowly stood up, using their swords as canes. They seemed to have injured legs. Were they the ones who had been hit by arrows while on the wall earlier? If the arrowhead was still stuck in their legs without passing through, there was no way they could walk properly. I didn't know what kind of arrowheads the Count's guards used, but if they were the type that were hard to remove, perhaps they had been trying to pull them out here. Or maybe the arrowheads were poisoned, and the poison had spread through their bodies while they were fleeing.
