Chapter 45 - A Fun Revenge Movie. The Suit-Clad Killer’s Rampage.

"Good evening, John."

"Good evening, Jimmy."

By the end of the battle inside the house, John Wick had dealt with every killer who came for him.

The gunfights were clean, sharp, and terrifyingly efficient.

Most enemies did not even get the chance to turn the fight into a struggle. One shot to stop them. One shot to finish them.

If the distance closed, John did not waste time wrestling for drama. He used real, brutal, practical fighting skills and ended the fight in an instant.

No mercy.

No hesitation.

Only killing.

Outside the window, red and blue police lights flashed.

The audience's hearts immediately rose into their throats.

After killing so many people, was John Wick about to clash with the police too?

But John looked as if he had only just finished some ordinary household chore. He calmly opened the door and greeted the police officer standing outside.

Officer Jimmy glanced past him.

Behind John, bodies were scattered across the room.

Jimmy's expression barely changed.

"You working again, John?"

John answered calmly, "No. Just cleaning up some loose ends."

Jimmy stared at him for a moment, then nodded.

"Okay. Good night, John."

"Good night, Jimmy."

The theater fell into a strange silence.

That was it.

The police just let him go.

The audience became even more curious about John Wick's past.

Who exactly was this man?

What kind of world did he belong to?

With one phone call from John, a group of professional cleaners arrived to erase the battlefield. In a short time, the room looked as if nothing had ever happened there.

The failed assassination only made Viggo even more afraid.

"It seems the child failed to trap the wolf," he said.

Since ordinary killers could not stop John Wick, Viggo decided to spend a lot of money and hire a real professional.

Then the audience saw a familiar face.

"Ah. Green Goblin."

"Damn. Green Goblin versus Spider-Man again."

"So we can see them fight here too."

When veteran actor Willem Dafoe appeared on screen, the audience almost went crazy.

Not long ago, he and Xu Can had fought several times in Spider-Man. Now the two of them had appeared in another movie, once again standing on opposite sides.

The old Green Goblin's performance in John Wick was just as outstanding.

At first glance, Marcus looked like an ordinary retired uncle. He wore a dressing gown, moved slowly, and gave off none of Norman Osborn's proud, superior aura.

Norman Osborn was a successful entrepreneur and scientist. Even when he smiled, he carried a sense of control.

Marcus was different.

He looked relaxed. Quiet. Almost harmless.

But anyone who truly looked down on him would probably pay a heavy price.

With John Wick's limited budget of around $16 million, Xu Can could not hire a cast full of top Hollywood stars like Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, or Denzel Washington.

Many action films prefer stars from the twenty-million-dollar club to guarantee both acting skill and box office appeal.

Xu Can's cast was not built that way.

Most of the actors were not the most expensive names in Hollywood.

Even Willem Dafoe joined at a friendly price because of his relationship with Xu Can and the reputation Xu Can had already built.

But none of that mattered once the movie began.

Every performance was online.

Driven by Xu Can's god-level acting, the entire cast seemed to perform better together. The result was a feast for the audience.

Viggo looked at Marcus and asked, "For two million, can you kill John Wick?"

Marcus paused.

"Even though we had a good relationship…"

"Is this contract exclusive to me?"

"No," Viggo replied. "It is an open contract."

Marcus lowered his gaze.

"Okay. I'll take it."

This time, Marcus did not put on the Green Goblin suit.

He simply pulled out a sniper rifle and wiped the weapon carefully.

The scene changed.

The Continental Hotel.

John Wick came to the hotel and passed by a woman played by Emma Stone.

Just by looking at her face, the audience could tell she was definitely not some random passerby.

"Did they work together again in the new movie?"

"Great. I get to see them together again."

Many female viewers became excited.

Xu Can and Emma Stone's pairing in Spider-Man had been too charming. Unfortunately, Peter and Gwen had been temporarily separated by the end of that film.

Everyone thought they would have to wait until Spider-Man 2 to see them share the screen again.

Who would have expected it to happen so soon?

In reality, scandals between Xu Can and Emma Stone appeared constantly. Paparazzi often photographed them being close in public.

But that kind of scandal did not hurt their popularity at all.

Instead, fans loved it.

For the first time, many fans even felt that the paparazzi had some value.

But some calmer viewers quickly realized something was wrong.

Emma Stone was not the heroine of this movie. She only had a supporting role.

Could it be that her character was not simple?

The answer came soon.

"Nice to meet you, John," she said.

"You too, Perkins."

It seemed the two had worked together before.

And this woman was also a killer.

John entered the hotel.

"Has the Continental changed owners?" he asked.

"No," the receptionist replied. "It is the same as before. It is an honor to welcome you back, Mr. Wick."

The entire hotel gave people an elegant, upscale, yet mysterious feeling.

The calm black receptionist.

The mysterious female killer.

The strange gold coins.

Every detail suggested that behind this hotel existed a huge hidden organization, creating a unique and fascinating world.

After checking in, John planned to solve the problem through old relationships.

"John Wick," someone asked, "why is the bounty so high?"

"Room service," another voice replied dryly.

"What is going on with him?"

"I want to talk to him."

"You know the rules here," the receptionist said. "No business is conducted on Continental grounds."

"This is a personal vendetta."

Even though John spoke calmly and kept his voice low, he did not get the answer he wanted.

The forces behind the Continental were clearly going to protect the man who had killed his dog.

John knew how large the organization was. He knew what kind of pressure he would face if he broke the hotel's rules.

But John Wick had no intention of being reasonable.

Back in his room, he put on his body armor and headed straight toward the enemy's lair.

The dance floor was chaotic.

Men and women moved beneath colorful lights. The music and drums struck the audience's ears like a restless heartbeat.

The flame of revenge, suppressed again and again, finally burned out of control.

In the past, many Hollywood protagonists were either noble heroes or righteous saviors. No matter how much they suffered, they often fought in a grand and honorable way.

After watching that kind of formula for too long, the audience would inevitably feel that the main character's hands were tied.

But John Wick was different.

He killed when he needed to kill. He hurt enemies when he needed information. His methods were cold and cruel, but the audience accepted them completely.

After all, the other side started the trouble first.

They had stolen his car.

They had killed the last gift from his wife.

So when John Wick stepped onto the road of revenge, the audience did not feel disgust.

They felt satisfied.

Accompanied by the music, John Wick began his killing spree.

He moved through the nightclub like a shadow in a suit.

A blade flashed.

A pistol appeared.

One enemy fell, then another. Every movement was simple, practical, and ruthless.

He knocked one man down, broke his resistance, drew the Glock 26 from his waist, and sent two more enemies down with clean shots.

Then he dodged another sneak attack, pressed the attacker down, and ended the fight at close range.

From the outer door all the way to the innermost bath area, the gangsters felt their scalps go numb.

He came.

Iosef, the arrogant little gangster who had caused all of this, finally sensed that something was wrong.

When he looked up, he saw a man in a suit moving toward him like death itself.

Their eyes met across the steam and flashing lights.

Iosef's eyes filled with fear.

But John Wick's eyes held only revenge.

At that moment, Iosef finally understood.

He had offended someone he should never have touched.

"This is a real action movie."

"Kill him. Kill him."

The audience had already entered the mood of revenge and could no longer stop.

Iosef stood up and ran. His muscular bodyguards rushed forward, trying to block the god of death for him.

John did not follow the usual action-movie routine.

He stepped on an opponent's foot, forced him to lose balance, then fired two shots into his chest and one final shot upward.

"Mozambique shooting method."

Some knowledgeable viewers recognized it immediately.

Two shots to the chest. One to the head.

Even a god would have to shake his head after facing that.

Compared with other mindless action movies, this was truly cool.

Iosef panicked completely and rushed from the crowd toward a private area of the nightclub.

John ran out of Glock ammunition and smoothly drew the P30L, the extended version of the full-size combat pistol P30, from his waist.

He picked up the new weapon and continued forward, not caring how many people were waiting ahead.

As many as you have.

Facing another siege, John blocked two close-range shots with his body armor, turned and shot the enemy behind him, then spun back and dealt with the man in front of him.

Another man rushed forward, only to be knocked back by John's left hook. John struck the man's throat, stopping his resistance instantly.

When his magazine ran empty, John calmly dropped it, reloaded, and continued firing in one smooth motion.

That calm reload in the middle of battle stunned the entire audience.

Everyone's mouth opened in surprise.

Could a gunfight action movie really be filmed like this?

And the scene was not over.

Similar clean takedowns appeared one after another.

Two shots to the chest and one to the head.

A kick to the leg, then a final shot.

A close-range strike, then a quick finish.

Every action was sharp. Every shot had purpose. Every enemy fell within seconds.

One man.

One gun.

From the entrance to the deepest part of the nightclub, John Wick cut through the gang like a fruit farmer casually harvesting fruit.

No one in the gang could last more than three seconds.

The action scene lasted nearly ten minutes and took down more than thirty people.

Every movement was art.

The audience did not even want to blink, afraid of missing a single moment.

High energy from beginning to end.

People clenched their fists in their seats, trembling with excitement.

But there were too many people in the nightclub. Taking advantage of the chaos, Iosef wrapped himself in a bath towel and escaped.

John left the nightclub with bloodstains on his clothes and returned to the Continental to treat his wounds and plan the next stage of revenge.

He had been injured during the battle. There was a deep wound in his abdomen.

While the doctor stitched him up, the ruthless John Wick simply poured himself a glass of bourbon.

That calmness gave people the feeling of true ruthlessness and perseverance

Back in his room, John lay on the bed and prepared to rest.

But danger arrived again before he could recover.

Perkins appeared.

The female killer sneaked into John Wick's room.

The audience had not recovered from the nightclub battle yet, but another fierce fight was already coming.

Everyone had originally wanted to talk about Xu Can and Emma Stone's pairing, but who would have thought that these two would start fighting each other on screen.

Outside the window, Marcus had already set up his sniper rifle and waited for an opportunity.

The audience immediately reacted.

"Green Goblin and Gwen are teaming up to kill Spider-Man."

Many viewers held their heads.

The situation was too dangerous.

No one cared anymore about how stylish Perkins looked in her leather coat.

There was no time to chat. No time to reminisce.

They raised their guns and started fighting.

John Wick used the bandage on his own arm to choke Perkins and force her down. There was no tenderness and no past affection in the fight.

Inside the small room, every movement carried danger.

In the end, John gained the upper hand, subdued Perkins, and interrogated her. From her, he learned that Viggo had sent her to assassinate him.

Since the other side had already broken the rules, John no longer held back.

The next day, he went straight to the gang's territory, planning to settle the matter with Viggo himself.

He would deal with both father and son together.

In games and movies, when someone breaks into a powerful gang base alone, most protagonists sneak in and search for opportunities.

An infiltration assassination.

A silent approach.

But John Wick chose another way.

No.

He attacked head-on.

Your entire gang is surrounded by me alone.

John took advantage of the crowd, held the CA-415, a rifle modeled after the HK416, and fired in full-auto mode.

Xu Can's tactical movements in the movie were so standard that even retired soldiers would feel ashamed.

The battle scenes had been fully upgraded.

Alone, John remained calm and steady.

He used his gun to suppress enemies from long range, changed magazines smoothly, and moved through the battlefield with terrifying control.

The legendary killer was now full of firepower.

The gangsters were stunned by the surprise attack. After John killed several people in a row, Viggo finally realized what was happening and tried to flee by car.

After being pressured, Viggo ordered his men to kill John Wick at all costs.

At the critical moment, a sniper bullet passed through the narrow window and took down the minion threatening John.

Marcus saved him.

So the Green Goblin was actually a good guy.

The earlier bullet he fired into John's hotel room had only been a warning to wake him up.

Even with his hands cuffed, John escaped smoothly. Using Brazilian jiu-jitsu and ground-fighting techniques, he eliminated the remaining guards with frightening skill.

Those moves were so clean that even UFC professionals would recognize the level behind them.

After getting out of trouble, John did not stop.

He picked up a KSG pump-action shotgun, rushed out, and shot to stop Viggo's car.

Under the threat of the shotgun, Viggo confessed his son's whereabouts.

John immediately went to the factory and found the culprit who killed his dog.

Iosef.

The arrogant little gangster from the beginning of the film had nowhere left to run.

He was so frightened that he nearly lost control of himself. John shot him down calmly, then walked toward him step by step.

The sound of leather shoes against the floor felt like a death knell.

At this moment, the director did not give Iosef a heroic close-up from the front. He was only shown as a weak figure from behind.

His expression was left for the audience to imagine.

Maybe he regretted it.

Maybe he wondered why he had killed the dog so casually.

John Wick's face remained hidden in shadow.

The gun was pointed between Iosef's eyes.

Iosef tried to make one final plea for mercy.

"That was just a…"

Bang.

One shot.

Executed on the spot.

Iosef paid the price for what he had done without even finishing his last words.

John Wick, who had completed his revenge, showed no emotional change from beginning to end. There was only indifference in his eyes as he turned and walked away.

At that moment, almost the entire audience breathed a sigh of relief.

The anger that had been suppressed for an hour was finally released.

But the movie was not over.

Viggo could not accept his son's death. In anger, he went after Marcus, the old killer who had helped John.

Marcus, who had already retired, still failed to receive a peaceful end.

When John learned what had happened, he decided to do whatever he could to kill Viggo and avenge his friend.

He drove the Ford Charger muscle car, compensated by the hotel, and caught up with Viggo's car.

Stop him with pure American force.

In the final battle of the film, John Wick once again showed off his driving skills on the big screen.

Head-on collision.

Blind shooting over the roof of the car.

Shots from the front of the vehicle.

One man and one car, charging like a rider riding a white horse as he charged at cavalry.

He entered and exited the enemy formation seven times, cutting through everyone until no one was left standing.

Finally, after removing all of Viggo's men, John appeared in front of the gang boss like a nightmare.

Baba Yaga.

The name that had once frightened his enemies.

Now, it was Viggo's own soul being harvested.

"Stop using the gun," Viggo said, still making one last struggle.

Facing his former partner, John chose to respect him and fought him directly on that rainy night.

Judo.

Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Joint techniques.

Against the knife-wielding Viggo, John completed the counterattack through a series of ruthless, precise movements.

Viggo collapsed, knowing the end had come.

"See you in hell," he said calmly.

John looked down at him.

"Well. See you next time."

Then the story finally returned to the very beginning of the film.

John fell to the ground, clutching his injuries, watching his wife's smile and listening to her voice in the video again and again.

He had once planned to spend the rest of his life quietly.

But now, his survival instinct had been reignited.

He gritted his teeth, treated his own wound, and later took away a Staffordshire bull terrier from a stray dog rescue center.

A man and a dog disappeared into the night.

The credits appeared.

[Directed by David Leitch / Xu Can]

[Screenwriter: Xu Can]

[John Wick]

The movie was over.

But the entire audience remained sitting in their seats for a long time, unable to calm down.
