After I finished washing up, I put on clean clothes and went looking for Hestia. I checked downstairs, but she was in her room. I thought about teleporting straight into her room but stopped myself.
I approached the door and knocked a few times.
"Come in," I heard Hestia say.
I opened the door and saw her sitting on her bed, reading the sixth volume of *Re:Zero*. She was reading the whole story all over again. *She really loves this story, doesn't she?* I walked over to the bed and sat down.
"You're here because of the letter, aren't you?" Hestia asked.
"Mikoto told me about the letter. Is it important?"
"It's right there. I didn't open it."
The letter was sitting on the desk in her room. And just as she said, the envelope was sealed. 'I'm surprised. I thought she would have opened it...'
I picked up the envelope; there was no sender's name, only my own. 'Very suspicious...' I thought as I stared at it.
"Aren't you going to open it?"
"You're curious, aren't you?" I smiled at Hestia.
"Of course I am! I've been holding myself back from opening it! Come on, open it!"
"Sure, sure." I chuckled and opened the letter. When I started reading it, I was surprised. It was a surprisingly normal letter; there was nothing strange or compromising about it.
It was just a fan letter, praising my work as a writer as well as my appearance.
'So, it's someone I've met in person before.'
But when I read the end of the letter and saw the sender's name, my eyes widened. 'I've never met her in person...' I thought. The name written there was "Hephaestus"—a goddess I had never met face-to-face before. Of course I know her very well—I've even bought things from her Familia's shops... But I've never had the pleasure of speaking with her in person.
'I'd been warned that Hephaestus was interested in me... Very interested.'
I swallowed hard and looked at Hestia.
"What is it? You look nervous."
"Someone you know very well sent this letter... Someone you certainly wouldn't have expected."
"Someone I know very well? A friend of mine?"
"You certainly consider her a friend."
Hestia thought for a moment, then said, "Are you serious!?" She snatched the letter from my hand and quickly read through it. "It really is a letter from Hephaestus. Why is that woman sending a letter to my husband!? Of all people!"
Hestia couldn't believe it.
Hearing her call me "husband" warmed my heart.
"Calm down. There's no need to shout."
"She told me plenty of times she didn't care about you! She told me herself she'd never read anything you wrote! This letter is a lie! ...Or else she lied to me."
"How long has it been since you last saw her?"
"The last time I met her... It's been a while. But what do you plan to do? Are you going to meet her?"
"I can't leave a goddess hanging," I said with a smile.
"You rascal, you're thinking about perverted things! You're going to take advantage of her!"
"I'm just going to meet her and give an autograph; nothing else is going to happen."
"Do you really think I'm going to believe that!?" Hestia puffed out her cheeks.
"I thought your jealousy had faded, but you're still the jealous type."
"It's just that Hephaestus... Well... I can't imagine you getting close to Hephaestus; it feels so strange to me." "Why do you think I'm going to start a relationship with her right after meeting her? Who do you think I am?"
"That's just how you are! You stick your dick into any pretty woman you meet!"
"Hey, hold on a second—you're exaggerating."
That hurt… She spoke as if my dick was worthless.

POV: Hestia
After Luan left my room, I got up and put on proper clothes before leaving the mansion. I had asked him not to go meet Hephaestus, as I wanted to speak with her first.
He agreed without any issue.
So, properly dressed, I briskly made my way toward the tower.
'Why am I feeling so irritated?' I don't know, but I am furious! I'm certain Hephaestus sent that letter for another reason. I'm sure she's taken an interest in him! And that infuriates me!
She's a friend of mine... Isn't it insane for a friend to take an interest in your husband?
I arrived at the Tower of Babel. I went up to the Hephaestus Familia shops, and the moment I walked in, everyone looked at me in surprise. One of the shop assistants approached. "Goddess Hestia? How can I help you?"
"Where is Hephaestus?"
"The Goddess is a bit busy right now, so..."
"I don't care; just tell me where she is. I need to discuss something important with her!"
"But..."
"Didn't you understand?"
The employee finally gave up arguing and disappeared for a few minutes before returning with a smile. "Follow me."
I followed the man to a room and slammed the door shut as soon as I entered. Facing Hephaestus, I demanded, "What do you think you're doing?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why are you sending a letter to my man!?"
"Your man?"
"Yes, my man! You know perfectly well I'm pregnant with his child—I told you about it. Why did you send him a letter? Why do you want to meet him?"
"Because I'm a fan of the things he's written; that's all." Hephaestus pointed to a shelf. It held all the books written by Luan.
'I'm certain none of those books were here before.'
"You never told me you were a fan of his; why all of a sudden—?"
"You never asked." Hephaestus smiled. "I've been a fan of his for quite some time."
Looking at Hephaestus's expression, I thought, 'She's lying to me.'
