_______

Family is not an important thing. It's everything." — Michael J. Fox

_______

-His highness, the crown prince Alexander Hemsworth -

"I want you in my carriage in ten minutes." Said my uncle as he got up from his seat and left the room with his henchman. I slumped in my seat and sighed loudly.

"Lorel, please. I need you to send an urgent message to doctor Morlon, tell her to prepare the operation for the next week. " I explained to my worried assistant. He tried to speak but I instantly cut him off.

"Don't worry about it, I'll handle it. Like I always do, I didn't drug myself for nothing." I took the cup of tea in front of me. At that moment I wished it would feel warm against my skin, everything felt too cold in this room…

I heard the door slowly close. I sipped the now cold tea and waited.

I got up, rearranged my curls, straightened my clothes, and exhaled. I walked toward the door, my hand on the handle and opened it.

______

- Baron Jamall Morlon-

"Please Thomas, put this one on. You are the Lord of this house." I extended my arm to give him a shirt with the emblem of our family.

"Thank you, darling. Remember, the moment she shows disrespect, she will be sent away with the rest of the victims." He said as he put the clothes on. I came closer to button it, and felt my heartbeat speed.

He was still as protective as the first time we met.

"I'm not a fragile little omega, Thomas. I still can beat you in a fight and this woman is so tiny. Why would I be affected?" I put my hand on his chest as he took me in an embrace, lifted my chin with his big hand and his gentle eyes landed on my face.

"You are the strongest and most resilient person I've ever met, Jamall. But that doesn't mean you always have to be tough and strong all the time, especially with me…" a bitter chuckle left my mouth as I got away from his tight hold.

I turned around to take his coat, and a slap landed on my bottom.

I turned around shocked only to be met with a playful smile on my husband's face.

"Why would you do that?" He chuckled and grabbed me by the waist, pulling me closer to him. His soft lips pushed themselves against mine and let him have his ways as I closed my eyes, accepting his comfort.

________

The room was silent, only the clink of the plates could be heard.

The domestics fidgeted, they felt the weird tension as they took the plates off the table, most of them still full.

As always, I had planned everything from the setting of the table, the delicious dinner nobody seemed to enjoy to the bouquet decorating the table.

But the tension in the room was so uncomfortable.

My husband barely managed to keep his pheromones contained, affecting me the most.

The twins who would normally talk nonsense unnecessarily loudly, pushed around the food on their plate.

Even Anwar seemed distressed by the strange woman who seemed to stare right at me without blinking.

I cleared my throat and looked at Thomas who nodded.

The person at the end of the table, now clean and proper, still looked dirty but from the inside this time. She looked younger than my first son, yet her features, worn by exhaustion, made her appear older.

"Perhaps, children, you should go to your rooms since you don't seem to enjoy your dinner. "I said, taking my napkin to wipe my mouth. The loud sound of chairs moving, the footsteps and the whispering filled the entire room, as they all left.

Ojalá hovered right beside my chair as she gave me my tea.

"You are Jamall Gahmaly, aren't you? The omega son of Limam Gahmaly." She said with every bit of disdain she could show. Her voice was raspy and low, her thick accent, reminiscent of home, tightened my vocal cords.

"Hum, yes I was. Now I am Jamall Morlon, the Baron Morlon." I responded in edvaisry. She smirked and put the food in her mouth. She chewed it.

"The bandits, this young man arrested," She pointed toward Hassan," They all took us by surprise during the night, put us on boats . They touched us and hit us." Her mouth was full as she explained. Ojalá translated directly.

"Do you know who they worked for?" I asked, she looked at me in my eyes and pointed the fork in my son's direction.

"I don't know who the big boss is, but he is royalty. The person is rich and has lots of money." She scratched the side of her face and let a small laugh out.

"You should ask the cat, it knows everything you will need to know. "

"The cat " Repeated Hassan.

"Yes, it supplies drugs to the captors but also helps us. Some of us had to start working immediately, they had to induce our heat. Some of us got pregnant, including myself." She said as she put more food in her mouth.

" Alright… my Lord, we should call the doctor." I turned toward my husband, and the woman left her utensils on her plate.

"Don't you feel ashamed!" her loud scream resonated against the walls. All of the people, the domestics, my son and husband stopped what they were doing.

The small voice of Ojalá followed to translate her harsh words, directed toward me. She looked furious and disgusted, some of the food had gotten on the table.

"Your father had everything, money, status and a good future for you! Yet you bore, you a deformed omega, bore children for this man!"

Thomas was about to speak but I simply shook my head.

"You put shame on your father's name, our community! They still mock him, a respectable man!" I had never seen this woman before who seemed way younger than me, yet her resentment travelled back from home to find me in a stranger's mouth.

I sighed loudly and raised my hand in the direction of our butler.

"Fetch the doctor, please Micheal." I got up with the same cadence I would in front of respectable guests and walked toward this young woman.

"You shouldn't scream like that, it's not good for your health or the child." The tightness in my chest made it hard to breathe as I took her by the hand. She glared at me but got up.

"Please Ojalá, take her back to her room, she should rest. I will retire for the night." I simply let go of her hand and walked my way upstairs to kiss the forehead of all of my children before going into my own room.

I immediately got on my knees in front of my bed and started to pray for forgiveness and let Murio touch my father's heart to be relieved from the shame I gave him. No tears or cries, I just prayed in silence as my heart ached, regret and shame, let it all vanish from my dear father's heart and my mother's mind.

I got up and sat on my desk, took a paper and started to write.

_______

-Commander Thomas Morlon-

The room was eerily silent.

"Father, shouldn't we-" I rose from my seat and walked toward the young woman who was still eating. She stopped chewing once I lowered my face right in front of hers.

"You don't shame the people who helped you."I looked deep into her eyes.

She stared right back at me with defiance and hatred. That's all I could see.

"You may think of yourself as proper, since you never chose the ''enemy'' to share your bed with." I got closer, almost an inch from her face, to be sure that even if she couldn't understand the words that came out of my mouth, she would feel their weight.

"But my lady, you are just as cruel as the men who raped you and put a child inside you." I said, as slowly as I could while the little Ojalá translated for me.

"Limam Gahmaly shouldn't hold so much of your esteem as he is the one who put you here. He allows omegas from your city to disappear without a trace, he enables the men that you despise so much to take you and sell you on our streets like livestock." She frowned deeply. Her hand visibly tightened around the fork.

"How do you think he got so rich?" I looked at her deep in the eyes, she swallowed and lowered her eyes.

"What are you saying? I respected my father's wish unlike your concubine, or should I say— private prostitute. And Limam Gahmaly, unlike your son, is a respectable man, a good alpha and spouse. " she said with a wide smile.

"Careful now, lady," I said." You are in our house, eating our food…" I didn't have time to finish.

The small woman erupted, spitting her food right across my face and lunged at my throat.

The sharp fork millimeters close to my throat, I held her hand, so forcefully that she lost her grip on the utensils.

Hassan immediately got up and restrained her. She tried to fight him, only to stop completely overpowered and frustrated.

"Take her to her room." Hassan nodded and took the woman by the arm.

I felt the dread with each step I took toward my bedchamber.

I opened the door to find Jamall, writing steadily on his desk. I only sighed, this only meant one thing…

I didn't say anything and sat on our bed. I disrobed and put on my nightgown, Jamal finally stood up but no words left his mouth.

I extended my arm and he put his hand in mine.

"I want to see my sister, my Lord." He barely whispered. I felt a pang in my chest but didn't respond and took my little man in my arms.

"You know that it is not a good idea. What happened tonight was a commotion caused by our son. He shouldn't have brought her here." I told him. I tried to let some of my pheromones out to soothe him but he wouldn't look at me.

"My Lord, she has the right to feel that way. Life was harsh with her, whereas I am able to live freely here with you and grow my own life. Please, do not let your anger and desire to protect me cloud your judgement." He took a step back and returned to his seat.

"As for my sister, once our grandchild is brought into this world, I will go find her myself, my Lord." He took his quill in his hand, before starting to write again.

I scoffed and went to our bathroom.
