*Note:
Guys, you're going to love the Pokémon League. I've been working on it for weeks—planning teams, participants, every single detail. I've done everything… or at least I think I have.
I'll be honest, I'm almost done. There's only one battle left… but damn, what a battle. It's incredibly complicated, and just deciding the team, the strategies, and everything else has already taken me about two full days… and I haven't even started writing it yet.
That said, tomorrow I'll finally begin working on the last battle of the Pokémon League.
I really hope you stick with me through all of this, because without a doubt, this is the best and most detailed arc I've ever made in this fic—and honestly, one of the best out of everything I've written so far.
I seriously recommend you don't miss it, because… wow. Even I get excited just thinking about it. It's a shame that, as the author, I already know how everything will play out. Otherwise, I'd be enjoying it like a kid.
And don't think everything ends after the Pokémon League. After that, there will be some very interesting transition chapters, along with a plot twist that I'm pretty sure none of you are expecting.
And if that wasn't enough, I already have the next region Ash will travel to planned out, and even some chapters are already in the works.
Seriously, there are some really, really exciting things coming… so I hope you'll stick with me through all of it.
So if you want to read it before anybody... Suscribe to my patreon! Link at the end of the chapter!
...
A small and rather cute Pokémon. It was short, barely reaching my knees, with white fur—pure as freshly fallen snow—and deep black eyes that stared at me the moment it came out of its Poké Ball.
It was an Eevee.
But not just any Eevee.
A Shiny Eevee—one of the most beautiful Shinies, at least in my opinion.
Note: The theme of this fic is that most of the Pokémon Ash captures are Shiny. If you don't like that or don't see the point, it's better to stop reading now to avoid disappointment later on.
"Eev!" Eevee cried.
The moment it came out of its Poké Ball, Eevee immediately understood who its trainer was. Without hesitation, it rushed toward him and began rubbing its little head against Ash's chest.
"An Eevee! So cute! I want one too!" Celeste exclaimed enviously.
It had a beautiful white coat—something rarely seen. In fact, the only times she had ever seen a white Eevee were in books while studying or online. She had never imagined seeing one in person rather than just in pictures or videos.
"Even I, who only likes Rock-type Pokémon, have to admit this Eevee is really cute," Roxanne nodded.
"It really is," I agreed.
Then I gently began stroking its small head.
"Pika pi!" Pikachu cried.
"I'll pet your head too later," I said.
Why does she get jealous when I give her attention all the time? I'll never understand women—whether human or Pokémon.
"Vee!" Eevee exclaimed happily.
It seemed genuinely happy to have a trainer like Ash. But it had just met him—how could it possibly know he would treat it well and not misuse it?
As I've said before, Pokémon have a sort of sixth sense. They can feel whether a human has good or bad intentions—call it Pokémon intuition or whatever you want.
The point is, Eevee knew.
It knew that the trainer it would be living with from now on was a good person. It could feel it deep inside.
"Welcome to the family," I said with a smile.
"Vee!" Eevee replied, smiling back.
…
Some time later.
After getting familiar with our new Pokémon—me with Eevee and Roxanne with Corsola—and discovering that both were female (I seriously have no idea why all the Pokémon I catch are female), it was finally time to head to the Pokémon Gym.
It had been over three weeks since my last battle, and it was time to earn my third-to-last Gym Badge—one step closer to the Pokémon League.
With that in mind, we made our way to the Gym.
"I just hope she's finished battling her previous challenger," Celeste said.
"It's been over two hours. There's no way a battle lasts that long," Roxanne replied.
She was right. Even in a 6 vs 6 match, a battle would last an hour at most—maybe a bit longer, but never two hours or more.
"She's definitely done. Let's go," I nodded.
Soon enough, we arrived at the Gym, where the same receptionist from before was already waiting at the entrance.
"It's you. Is Sabrina available?" I asked.
"Of course. In fact, she's been waiting for you. Please, come in," the receptionist replied.
Without further questions, the three of us followed him to the battlefield.
This battlefield was different from the others.
The ground didn't look like dirt—was it marble? I wasn't sure. But aside from that, everything was purple. The floor… the walls… all of it.
"Welcome, Ash, Celeste, and Roxanne," a voice suddenly said.
It came from in front of us.
A woman stood there.
Her dark purple hair flowed down to her slender waist, and her deep red eyes stared at us as if she could see right through us.
She wore a red high-collared dress with long sleeves and black leggings—very similar to her original design from the games.
It was Sabrina.
The Psychic-type Gym Leader.
"You must be Sabrina," I said calmly.
"That's right. It's a pleasure to meet the three of you," she replied.
After a somewhat tedious introduction…
"By the way, I have a question. I wonder if you could answer it," I said curiously.
"I know about you thanks to my powers," Sabrina said.
Damn. That was exactly what I was going to ask.
"But—" Celeste tried to speak.
"My psychic abilities allow me to see parts of the future," Sabrina explained. "Generally, the future of those connected to me—meaning challengers who come to face me."
"Are you saying you can predict the outcome of the battle before it even begins?" Roxanne asked.
At least this time she managed to finish her question.
"Normally, yes. But… unfortunately, I cannot see the future of our battle. Everything related to your future—everything except a couple of things—is covered by a thick white fog that prevents me from seeing beyond it."
We were all stunned.
She could see the future?
How was that even possible?
I didn't think powers like that existed in the Pokémon world.
[In this world, very few people possess abilities like Sabrina's. She is undoubtedly an anomaly. But don't let her presence fool you—magic does not exist. Her abilities are the result of factors I cannot explain to you right now.]
I see…
Well, that's better. I prefer worlds like this over ones filled with magic. Those are always more complicated.
"White fog?" Celeste asked.
"A couple of things? What things?" Roxanne followed up.
"I still cannot speak about them. But what you can know is that those are the only things I can see about your future… and also about… Regardless, I cannot say more," Sabrina said.
"Now I'm curious. Are you sure you can't tell us anything about that future?" I asked.
Now that she mentioned seeing part of my future, I couldn't help but wonder.
Did she see me winning the League?
My future wives?
"…I can tell you one thing," Sabrina said, "but under one condition."
"What is it?" I asked.
"Defeat me in a Pokémon battle, and I will tell you one thing about your future. As for the other… I cannot reveal it, no matter what you say."
Hearing that, I smiled.
"Alright. I'll defeat you. That's why we're here, after all," I said confidently.
"I'm glad to hear that. Then let's begin and not waste any more time," Sabrina replied.
After nodding, the girls took their seats in the stands while I moved to the opposite end of the battlefield—my usual position in Gym battles.
"The rules are simple! This will be a 3 vs 3 battle under official Pokémon League regulations! To win, one side must defeat all of their opponent's Pokémon! Are you ready?" the referee announced.
The receptionist had already taken his position as the referee, waiting for the conversation to end.
"I'm ready!" I said with a grin.
"Pika pi!" Pikachu agreed.
"I am ready," Sabrina said calmly.
"Then… let the battle begin!"
"Hypno, I choose you," Sabrina said.
A powerful-looking Hypno appeared on the battlefield, ready to fight.
Seeing Hypno, I thought to myself:
Which Pokémon should I use against Sabrina?
Thanks to Arceus, Sabrina was one of my favorite waifus from Kanto, and I remembered some of the Pokémon she used in the games.
Even though this isn't a game, so far I've noticed that every Gym Leader has only used Kanto Pokémon.
And what Psychic-types exist in Kanto?
We all know them.
Among them is Hypno—a Psychic-type Pokémon with a rather disturbing background, but also one of Sabrina's classic picks alongside Alakazam and Mr. Mime.
Because of that, I already had a good idea of her team…
And I already knew which Pokémon I should use.
