Chapter 109 - CHAPTER 91 – SABRINA’S PREDICTION

*Note: This is a filler chapter, but it contains some information about Green. If you dislike filler, I recommend reading only the first half of the chapter, which is the important part, and skipping the rest, which mainly serves to fill out the chapter. The next chapter will feature something much more interesting.

Green was a trainer who, up until now, had never lost a single battle. Like Ash, she came from Pallet Town and chose a starter Pokémon given to her by Professor Oak—specifically, a Squirtle. After that, she traveled across the region, challenging various trainers and Gym Leaders, winning every single battle. Green was one of the most talented trainers in all of Kanto, and only Ash could be compared to her.

Sabrina knew this, which is why she had Ash leave the Gym—she didn't want them to meet just yet. Naturally, their fates would eventually intertwine in more ways than one, but it wasn't the right time yet. That's why she "sent" Ash and his group away—because the timing wasn't right.

They were destined to face each other in the Pokémon League, but their relationship wouldn't be limited to simple rivalry. It would become something more… though that would have to wait.

During her journey, Green met Brock and Misty, and the three of them got along very well. They now traveled together, experiencing adventures across the Kanto region.

Brock knew that Green was extremely talented and had no doubt she would win the Pokémon League. As for Misty, she was traveling with her because Green broke her bike when they first met, and she decided to follow her until she paid for it—which still hadn't happened.

However, as she continued traveling with her, Misty began to notice Green's kind personality, and she started to feel something she had never expected to feel before… love.

Misty was a girl who liked boys, so she didn't understand why she felt attracted to Green. But it happened. And now, the excuse about the bike was just that—an excuse—to keep traveling together and maybe develop something more than friendship.

But Brock's presence annoyed her greatly, and they often argued because of it.

Misty tried to create all kinds of romantic situations with Green, but Brock interrupted most of them, and combined with Green being completely dense when it came to relationships, poor Misty hadn't made much progress.

Still, it was strange. Misty still liked boys—she wasn't into girls. That was a fact. And yet, Green had something special that attracted her deeply despite that.

How could you even explain that?

*Note: In my previous fic, I made Misty completely lesbian, and many people complained about that. So after thinking about it a lot more than you might expect, I decided that in this fic, Misty will be heterosexual so Ash can have a chance with her. However, as a small nod to my other fic, I made Misty attracted specifically to Green. Let me repeat in case it wasn't clear: Misty is heterosexual, but she is attracted to Green and no other girl. Why? I'll leave that to your imagination. Also, there will be no yuri in this fic, so just wait and see how Misty's romance develops.

In any case, that was Green's current situation. Just like Ash, she was about to earn her sixth Gym Badge today, leaving her with only two more before entering the Pokémon League.

It was curious how they were progressing at exactly the same pace. Don't you think?

Well, they had both lived their own adventures.

Sabrina already knew about the fate they shared, and she smiled.

As someone who could see the future, she didn't want to interfere with it.

Or perhaps… the future she saw was already shaped by her own actions?

Even Sabrina didn't know the answer to that.

But it didn't matter.

Ash and Green's destinies were tightly intertwined, and they were destined to be lifelong rivals.

Although…

Who says they're only meant to be rivals?

And who says Green is just a secondary character in this story?

Is she just a supporting character in Ash's journey… or something more important?

Sabrina knew the answer.

But you'll have to wait and see.

With Ash.

After receiving Sabrina's message, the girls, excited to spend the day shopping, dragged me all the way to the Saffron City market.

I spent hours there waiting for them to finish their shopping.

Even Pikachu betrayed me and went with them.

Seriously… why do even female Pokémon enjoy shopping and looking at clothes when they don't even wear them?

Well, I guess I have seen some Pokémon wearing clothes out in the streets… but most of them go around "naked," so I really don't get why Pikachu enjoys looking at clothes she'll never use.

But since I didn't feel like listening to a long explanation from the girls about why both human women and female Pokémon love shopping… I decided to just stay quiet and follow them.

Even though I was bored most of the time, I have to admit—the market was beautiful.

There were dozens of stalls stretching as far as the eye could see. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people walked around with their Pokémon, browsing and buying all kinds of things. And the sunny weather made everything even more lively.

As for me, I bought some food so I wouldn't be completely bored while waiting, and I checked out a few stalls to see if anything caught my attention.

And I did find something interesting.

Just… not in the way I expected.

The stall that caught my attention was one selling crepes of all kinds—sweet and savory—but that wasn't what surprised me.

What surprised me was the sellers.

It was Team Rocket in disguise.

Curious, I walked up to them.

"Why are you working as shopkeepers? And just so you know, I already know you're Team Rocket, so don't bother hiding it. Your disguises are pathetic this time," I said.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. We're just simple vendors," James said.

"That's right. You must have mistaken us for someone else," Jessie added.

"Really? Then I guess you won't mind if I call Officer Jenny and have her inspect your stall…" I said with a smile.

Hearing that, Team Rocket immediately got nervous.

"Fine, it's us. Happy now, brat?" James asked.

"Yes. But what I want to know is what you're doing here. If you're planning anything shady… I won't hesitate to stop you," I said seriously.

"Relax! We ran out of money, so we're selling crepes to earn some cash and survive, nya!" Meowth said.

"That's right! For once, we're not planning anything evil—we're just trying to make an honest living!" James nodded.

"Really?" I asked skeptically.

"Yes!" the three of them replied.

Normally, they would lie—they were villains, after all. Why would they tell the truth?

But this time was different.

They really weren't planning anything. Their trip to Johto to follow me had drained all their funds, and now they were completely broke—even struggling to afford food. In fact, they had to borrow money just to buy the ingredients for the crepes.

Under normal circumstances, they might have been scheming something—but right now, they just wanted to earn money, pay their debt, and eat. Nothing more.

"Alright. Since you helped me a few weeks ago during that incident, I'll let it slide and pretend I didn't see you. But don't even think about doing anything shady—or I'll blast you off myself," I said.

"Got it!" they all replied.

But deep down, they were already thinking about their next plan to get revenge on the brat… and steal his Pikachu.
