He tried to put the negative emotions behind him, but the world seemed unwilling to give him a chance to breathe.
Remias sat behind his desk, watching as Su Luo entered the room. He didn't gesture for him to sit down.
His expression was cold and serious, his eyes cutting into Su Luo like knives.
"Su Luo, do you know why I called you here?" Remias asked.
Su Luo gritted his teeth, feeling the pressure weigh on his heart once again.
"Is it because of the reports?" he replied in a low voice.
Remias nodded. "Yes. I'm very disappointed in your recent behavior.
As the core and leader of the team, you should be mindful of your image and professional conduct. This nightlife, the drinking, the people you surround yourself with—these things are not in line with the qualities of a top-level player."
Su Luo tried to explain. "Mr. Remias, please believe me—not all of the reports are true. I admit I might have gone too far in some areas, but it has never affected my attitude towards training or my focus on the pitch."
Remias's eyes grew sharper, clearly unconvinced. "Do you think that excuse is enough to make this all go away? Su Luo, you need to change. Otherwise, I'll seriously consider terminating your contract."
Su Luo felt both angry and helpless.
He tried his best to control his emotions. "Mr. Remias, I know I have a responsibility to change. But please believe me—those reports don't tell the whole story. I will adjust my lifestyle as soon as possible and prove my worth and dedication to the team."
Remias fell silent for a moment, then gradually softened his tone. "Su Luo, as the leader and core of the team, you carry greater responsibilities. You must understand that the team needs you—not just on the field, but as a positive influence off the field as well."
Su Luo nodded gratefully. "Thank you for understanding. I promise I'll make the necessary changes and respond to all doubts with real action."
Su Luo walked out of the office with a heavy heart, his thoughts in turmoil.
He understood that his actions had not only damaged the team's image but also left fans disappointed and angry.
He needed to act fast to fix the situation.
At the press conference, angry fans gathered, their chants echoing through the venue.
"Terminate Su Luo!"
"We don't want a captain like him!"
They held up banners and signs, shouting slogans and showing their deep dissatisfaction.
Su Luo felt a mix of guilt and remorse. He just wanted to apologize to the fans in person.
He walked from the backstage area to the fan zone stage.
Wearing a Chelsea jersey, Su Luo stood on the platform. The overwhelming chants pierced into his heart like needles.
"Please listen to me!" Su Luo stood firm, trying to calm the crowd.
"I know that my recent behavior has brought disappointment and heartbreak to all of you."
He struggled to keep his voice steady. "I want to express my most sincere apology to every single fan."
Gradually, the noise died down. The fans watched him, waiting to hear what he had to say.
"I admit I've made mistakes in many areas. I fully understand that as the team's captain and core player, my image and actions mean a lot to all of you."
Su Luo's eyes were firm. "I promise that from this moment on, I will change. I will control my lifestyle, set strict standards for myself, and hold myself to the highest level of professionalism."
