AS Haneul waited for his mother to return, the door to his room opened. He looked up, startled at first. An older man in a white coat stepped inside. He carried a small tray with a few items on it. His hair had a sprinkling of white strands, and his face displayed prominent smile lines.
"Hello, Kang Haneul-ssi," the doctor said, offering a gentle smile. "I'm Doctor Kim. How are you feeling?"
Haneul's guard went up at first at the sight of a stranger. But as he looked at the doctor's face, fragments of yesterday came back to him. This doctor was the same doctor who had been in the room when Taeyang marked him. The thought that the doctor had witnessed such an intimate moment between him and Taeyang made his entire face burn with embarrassment.
Doctor Kim seemed to catch his reaction. A small, knowing chuckle escaped him. "No need to feel shy about it. These things happen."
