The road to the mega city began with a forest.
And, naturally, the forest had monsters.
The first monster appeared before noon.
It was a Black Horned Tiger, a third-stage demonic beast large enough to swallow three ordinary cultivators whole.
It jumped from the trees with a roar.
Su Yubing did not even stop walking.
Mo Yuxin casually lifted one hand.
The tiger froze in midair.
Its giant paws hung above the ground.
Its mouth was still open.
Its roar ended in a confused growl.
Mo Yuxin looked at it.
The tiger looked back.
Su Yubing covered her mouth.
"What are you going to do?"
"I do not know."
"It looks frightened."
"It attacked us."
"Maybe it regrets it."
Mo Yuxin considered the tiger.
The tiger slowly lowered its head.
It made a small whimper.
Mo Yuxin released it.
The tiger hit the ground, rolled twice, got up, and immediately ran away.
Su Yubing smiled.
"You scared it."
"I was trying to teach it manners."
