Yan Luoxi was burning with anxiety, especially as the sound of the last explosion seemed to still linger in her ears, each sound piercing at her heart. She told Gu Qian, "Don't comfort me anymore, just focus on driving."
Gu Qian was worried about her state and knew she couldn't be distracted. She drove the car fast yet stable, and in under half an hour, was on the road leading to the military district.
From afar, she saw roadblocks set up ahead, armed special forces guarding the entrance and blocking all vehicles from passing through. Gu Qian slowed down, seeing many cars ahead turning back.
She lowered the car window, stopping a turning Mercedes and asked, "May I ask what happened ahead?"
The driver was a friendly uncle who warmly said, "Miss, you can't go ahead, just turn back."
Gu Qian glanced at Yan Luoxi and asked again, "Did something happen?"
