Ritsuka looked at the school in front of him and blinked.
After his classes at Valkyrie, Kanna had dropped him off near Gehenna Academy before driving away with a simple:
"Try not to start an international incident."
Very comforting.
Now he stood in front of one of the most infamous schools in Kivotos.
And honestly?
It looked… normal.
His stream was already running as he stared at the massive academy grounds.
"I thought it would be more red."
The buildings stretched across the district with grand white stone walls, black iron fences, and elegant towers that almost looked royal. It looked less like a den of chaos and more like a rich private academy.
The chat immediately started moving again.
"Wait this place is beautiful."
"THAT is Gehenna?"
"I expected lava."
"Where are the demons?"
"Streamer got lied too."
Ritsuka adjusted his bag as he looked around the massive courtyard.
"I was expecting fire, skulls, and at least one active crime scene."
A loud explosion echoed somewhere in the distance.
Ritsuka paused.
"...Never mind."
Black smoke slowly rose into the sky far behind the school buildings.
Students nearby didn't even react.
One girl calmly walked past while drinking juice.
Another dragged a rocket launcher behind her like school equipment.
Ritsuka stared.
"...This place is somehow both classy and unhinged."
The chat lost it.
"THIS SCHOOL IS PEAK"
"WHY DOES SHE HAVE A ROCKET LAUNCHER?"
"Average Monday"
"Kivotos moment"
Ritsuka started walking through the front courtyard.
Compared to Valkyrie, Gehenna felt... free.
Nobody stood in neat lines. Nobody cared about uniform rules. Some students skipped class openly. Others slept under trees.
And somehow it all still functioned.
'How does this country survive?'
Then he noticed something else.
Unlike Trinity's polished image or Valkyrie's strict structure, Gehenna students actually looked relaxed.
Chaotic.
Dangerous.
But relaxed.
A girl jumped out a second-floor window laughing while holding a machine gun.
Nobody screamed.
Nobody panicked.
One student just sighed.
"Again?"
Ritsuka looked at the camera.
"I think Gehenna has lowered my standards for normal in under thirty seconds."
Then his phone buzzed.
A new message.
Unknown Number:
"I heard you're in Gehenna now."
Another message immediately followed.
"Do not cause problems."
Ritsuka blinked.
"...Why do I feel threatened through text?"
Ritsuka sighed as he looked around the massive Gehenna courtyard.
"Now where is my guide?"
"Are you the new student?"
Ritsuka turned toward the voice.
The stream chat exploded instantly.
Standing a few feet away was a beautiful young woman with satin-blue hair tied into low twin tails. Her sharp blue eyes looked calm, professional, and slightly tired.
She wore a sleek black dress and stockings that gave her the appearance of a secretary more than a student.
And somehow that made her feel even more intimidating.
[Insert image of Amau Ako]
Ritsuka recognized her immediately from the files.
Amau Ako.
One of the highest-ranking members of Gehenna's Prefect Team and the right hand of Sorasaki Hina.
The chat completely lost control.
"OH NO SHE HOT"
"BRO EVERY SCHOOL HAS TOP TIER WOMEN"
"That outfit is NOT school regulation"
"The Angel Nation is unreal"
"Step on me secretary lady"
Ritsuka immediately looked away from chat.
"I am pretending I didn't read any of that."
Ako adjusted her gloves as she looked at him.
"You must be Ritsuka Morning Star."
Ritsuka nodded. "That obvious?"
"Sensei's son. Male student. Carrying a Desert Eagle. Streaming his daily life to thousands of outsiders." She paused. "You stand out."
"...Fair."
Ako sighed softly.
"I was assigned to guide you through Gehenna Academy."
Ritsuka blinked.
"You?"
Ako gave him a flat look.
"Is there a problem with that?"
Ritsuka immediately shook his head. "Nope. No problem at all."
Truthfully, there absolutely was a problem.
Because even from standing here for ten seconds, Ritsuka could already tell:
This woman looked like the type who handled everyone else's chaos personally.
Which meant one thing.
She was probably exhausted twenty-four hours a day.
As if proving his thoughts right, a loud explosion suddenly echoed from another building.
Ako didn't even flinch.
Instead, she pulled out her phone.
"...Who blew up the cafeteria this time?"
A muffled voice screamed through the speaker.
Ako closed her eyes.
"...I see."
She hung up.
Ritsuka carefully spoke. "So... Gehenna having daily explosions wasn't exaggerated?"
Ako started walking.
"No. In fact, today is relatively peaceful."
Ritsuka stopped moving.
"...Peaceful?"
Another explosion happened in the distance.
Ako nodded calmly.
"Only three explosions since morning."
Ako kept walking through the Gehenna courtyard while Ritsuka followed beside her.
Students moved everywhere around them:
girls eating lunch on rooftops,
others arguing over card games,
someone sleeping under a tree while holding an assault rifle.
And somehow nobody cared.
Ritsuka looked around carefully.
"...You know, for a school famous for chaos, everyone here actually looks pretty happy."
Ako glanced at him.
"Gehenna values freedom." She adjusted one of her gloves. "Students are allowed to act as they wish so long as they don't threaten the academy itself."
A second later another explosion shook the distance.
Ako sighed.
"...Usually."
The chat was moving so fast Ritsuka could barely read it.
"This school feels alive"
"Gehenna students just vibing"
"The secretary lady looks dead inside"
"She definitely hasn't slept in days"
Ritsuka accidentally read the last comment out loud.
Ako immediately stopped walking.
Silence.
Then she slowly looked at him.
"...What."
Ritsuka's survival instincts activated instantly.
"I didn't say anything."
"You literally just did."
"I blame the stream."
Ako pinched the bridge of her nose.
'This is why Hina-sama warned me.'
Then suddenly—
BOOM.
A massive explosion erupted from one of the cooking buildings nearby.
Smoke blasted through an open window.
Students screamed.
Someone yelled:
"THE CURRY IS ALIVE AGAIN!"
Ritsuka froze.
"...The what?"
Ako immediately turned and started marching toward the building with terrifying calm.
"Follow me."
Ritsuka blinked.
"Shouldn't we run away from the explosion?"
"No."
Another explosion happened.
"...Why are we walking TOWARD it?!"
Ako gave him a flat stare.
"Because Gehenna students are involved."
Which somehow explained nothing and everything at the same time.
The moment they entered the hallway, Ritsuka saw absolute chaos.
Burn marks covered the walls. A table was upside down. Someone had somehow embedded a spoon into the ceiling.
And in the center of it all—
A silver-haired girl proudly stood over a bubbling black pot like a mad scientist.
Ritsuka stared.
"...Why does that thing look alive?"
The pot hissed.
Ako immediately pointed.
"Iori. Turn off the stove."
A voice came from behind them.
"It stopped being a stove five minutes ago."
Ritsuka turned and immediately recognized another member of Gehenna's Prefect Team from the files.
Sorasaki Hina's elite forces really were everywhere.
Ritsuka took a good look at the girl.
She had long silver hair tied into twin tails with black bows. One of her bangs covered her left eye, while her visible bright red eye stared at the chaos around the room with pure annoyance.
Her light brown skin stood out immediately, especially compared to most students he had seen so far in Kivotos. Combined with her elven ears and black devil tail, she honestly looked more like a fantasy RPG character than a student.
She wore a sharp black-and-white uniform with a corset, gloves, high heels, and a red armband that gave her a military officer look.
And despite the cafeteria basically becoming a warzone…
She somehow looked like the least chaotic person here.
Her halo floated above her head, shaped like a strange grey crosshair.
Ritsuka blinked.
'Dark skin... that's actually rare here, especially since Kivotos is near Japan and China.'
The Iori crossed her arms.
"And who are you supposed to be?"
Before Ritsuka could answer, the chat already exploded.
[Chat:
"OH MY GOD"
"Dark skin silver hair combo"
"This school is cheating"
"BRO THE CHARACTER DESIGN"
"Streamer entered a gacha game"
"Would"
"Respectfully"
"Why does every girl here look like a final boss"]
Ritsuka immediately looked away from chat again.
"I hate all of you."
Ako sighed beside him. "You'll get used to it."
"I don't think I want to."
Iori narrowed her eye at him.
"...You're the new student, aren't you?"
Ritsuka nodded. "Ritsuka Morning Star."
Iori looked him up and down once.
Then at the phone.
Then back at him.
"...Why are you streaming Gehenna."
Ritsuka pointed at himself.
"Technically I'm documenting culture."
Ako spoke without hesitation.
"He's livestreaming his life to outsiders."
The girl stared.
"...Why."
Ritsuka answered honestly.
"It sounded funny at first."
The girl looked at Ako.
Ako nodded once.
"That is apparently the truth."
Iori sighed.
"...Great. Another problem for the Prefect Team."
Then the black pot behind her suddenly bubbled violently.
Everyone looked at it.
The Iori immediately pointed.
"Move."
Ritsuka blinked.
"What—"
The pot exploded.
Ritsuka moved on instinct.
The moment the pot exploded, he grabbed both girls and pulled them down behind one of the metal tables as black smoke and burning soup blasted across the room.
BOOM.
The shockwave rattled the windows.
Hot liquid splattered against the wall behind them.
For a second, everything went silent.
Then—
"WHY IS THE CURRY MELTING THE FLOOR?!"
"TURN OFF THE GAS!"
"IT ATE THROUGH THE PAN AGAIN!"
Ritsuka blinked through the smoke.
"...What kind of food was that?"
Ako calmly dusted ash off her sleeve.
"Gehenna cooking."
"That explains nothing."
Then he realized something.
He was still holding both girls close from the dive.
Ako stared at him silently.
The Iori girl stared at him silently.
Ritsuka slowly let go.
"...Right. Sorry."
The Iori stood up first and brushed her skirt off.
"...Your reflexes aren't bad."
Ako adjusted her glasses before looking at the ruined kitchen.
"...This is the third cafeteria incident this month."
Ritsuka looked around at the burning room.
"...MONTH?"
The silver-haired girl crossed her arms.
"Welcome to Gehenna."
Then she finally introduced herself properly.
"Iori. Gehenna Prefect Team."
Shiromi Iori.
The chat immediately exploded again.
[Chat:
"SHE HAS A DEVIL TAIL"
"Okay Gehenna definitely wins hottest school so far"
"Streamer just grabbed two top tiers at once"
"BRO IS SPEEDRUNNING"
"That save was smooth"
"The secretary girl looked impressed"
"No she didn't"
"LET ME BELIEVE"]
Ritsuka groaned.
"You people are making my life harder."
Iori looked at the phone.
"...Why are strangers commenting on my life."
Ritsuka answered immediately.
"I ask myself that every day."
Ako pinched the bridge of her nose again.
Somewhere in the distance, another explosion echoed through Gehenna Academy.
Nobody reacted.
Iori and Ako eventually gave up trying to stop random Gehenna incidents long enough to properly guide Ritsuka around the academy.
The three walked through one of Gehenna's massive open courtyards while students either relaxed peacefully…
…or committed minor crimes in the background.
There was somehow no middle ground.
Ritsuka kept his stream running while Ako explained the layout of the school.
"The western buildings are mainly used by the Prefect Team and disciplinary offices."
"Which nobody listens to," Iori added immediately.
Ako ignored her.
"The eastern sector contains clubs, dorms, and specialized facilities."
An explosion sounded somewhere nearby.
Ako sighed.
"…Most of them."
Ritsuka nodded slowly. "I'm starting to think Gehenna runs entirely on luck."
"It does," Iori said instantly.
Then Iori glanced at the stream chat scrolling endlessly across his phone.
"So why do you stream your life anyway?"
Ritsuka answered without hesitation.
"Money."
Both girls blinked.
Ako looked genuinely confused. "I thought the General Student Council covers your living conditions."
"They do," Ritsuka admitted. "They gave me enough to live normally."
"Then why stream?"
Ritsuka shrugged. "Extra money is extra money."
Honestly, it was the most normal reason either girl had heard all day.
Iori tilted her head slightly. "You live alone?"
"I stay with a roommate in a house."
Ako nodded. "That explains the housing allocation."
Then Iori asked the obvious question.
"What about your father? Shouldn't he be paying for you?"
Ritsuka's expression immediately flattened.
"I'm still mad at him."
Ako and Iori exchanged a glance.
That answer somehow sounded way more personal than they expected.
Iori crossed her arms. "What did he even do?"
Ritsuka looked ahead while walking.
"He disappeared for 2 years, showed back up, revealed he apparently has political influence over half the nation, enrolled me into fourteen schools, and now I have to balance international school politics before I'm even done with my first week."
Silence.
Then Iori nodded slowly.
"…Okay yeah, that's fair."
Even Ako looked like she couldn't argue with that one.
The chat immediately exploded again.
[Chat:
"HE HAS A POINT"
"Sensei sounds insane out of context"
"Bro got drafted into anime politics"
"Imagine your dad returns with government authority"
"14 SCHOOLS IS STILL INSANE"
Ritsuka pointed at the phone.
"See? They get it."
Ako stared at the stream for a second.
"…Why are outsiders agreeing with you so quickly."
"Because my life is objectively ridiculous."
To be continue
