Chapter 1031 - Chapter 271

- Surely, Suikazan-san," the jonin nodded, "and as you can see, our side's main condition has been met.

At the same time, Pakura's heightened hearing picked up the barely perceptible rustle of metal on the skin behind her back, and the next moment, she was already on the ground, turning around and intercepting with her left hand the Suna shinobi's kunai that was about to enter between her ribs and into her heart, and with her right, summoning a sphere of blazing fire and driving it into her recent comrade-in-arms.

- Ishiro! What biju?! - Pakura exclaimed, bouncing to the side so she could see both groups of fighters bare their weapons, ignoring the desiccated body that had fallen at her feet.

- It's nothing personal, Pakura-san," the Suna jonin shrugged indifferently, pulling out a metal fan with pointed edges and unfurling it, "the price of the peace treaty with Kirigakure is the life of Sunagakure no Eiyuu (Hero of the Hidden Sand).

- What?!" the kunoichi lost her composure for a moment.

Such blatant betrayal had taken her aback, breaking through her armor of calm and infuriating her. Now it was clear - she had been brought here to slaughter, to kill, and there would be no negotiations!

They had already passed, and the negotiating parties had agreed on a price that satisfied both sides - the life of the S-ranked kunoichi Suna, who hindered the Kazekage by the mere fact of her existence!

But her confusion didn't last a moment - no sooner had the ninjutsu expert unfurled the fan than Pakura was at her side.

- Shakuto: Kajyousatsu (Heat Release: Evaporating Touch)!

Thanks to her excellent control, the heat clots found their targets unmistakably, despite her attempts to dodge Suna's reacting jonins, outgoing steam and rapidly blackening bodies fell to the ground. Her speed advantage was too great for a different outcome.

- 'As expected of Shakuton no Pakura,' the swordsman nodded calmly and pulled his bandage-wrapped sword, more like a club, from behind his back, not the least bit saddened by the death of Suna's delegation.

With one glance at the Mists preparing to fight, Pakura turned and fled without taking the challenge-her intuition told her that the demon fat man would hardly be so confident if he went out to fight her alone.

A shrill whistle sounded behind her and the kunoichi's worst assumptions were justified - a couple hundred meters away from her on either side, the ground flew up, opening passageways from which more Kiri-nin began to pop out, blocking the way to retreat.

Had these been regular fighters, Pakura wouldn't have even slowed down, much less stopped, but the individuals leading them forced her to slow down, assessing the situation.
