Chapter 963 - Chapter 203

Even covering the kunai with katana didn't help much — the sword was covered with chakra, and then, in some elusive moment, the blade flew off and cut off the pirate's arm with the weapon, and then, before the enemy could recover, the sword cut off his head, accelerating twice.

I managed to notice the glint of a crossed hitai-te with a leaf symbol on his neck under the collar of his tight-fitting suit, previously hidden by the fabric of his clothes, and then the body sank under the water.

"Carcass," spat the captain, breathing heavily and wiping his sweaty bald head with the sleeve of his free hand.

It was clear that the fight had not been easy. Perhaps if it hadn't been for Jonin's wounds, Grandfather would have had to fight much harder, and it was not certain that he would have won, despite his skill with the sword.

"Iron?" I asked, moving closer to him.

"A long time ago, more than half my life," sighed the captain, wiping the blade with a rag and glancing quickly at me. "Thank you for your help."

"It's in my interest too," I nodded.

"Captain, we did it," a tired voice reached us, and we turned almost simultaneously toward the guards hobbling toward us through the waves.

And they were indeed hobbling — Jonin was almost dragging the young men behind him, despite being beaten and cut no less than the chunins. Out of the corner of my eye, I kept track of their battle, but since only the pirates' chakra signatures were fading, there was no cause for concern. Besides, it wasn't my problem as long as the ship was in one piece.

Speaking of ships, ours began to turn back, clearly to pick up everyone, but the pirates were about to flee, seeing that their shinobi had been defeated.

"They're leaving again, the bastards!" my grandfather cursed, looking with hatred at the pirates who had shown their backs.

"We've encountered these bastards six times already, but after destroying their chakra users, they quickly run away, and we're simply unable to catch up with them after the battle and destroy them," the jonin explained to my questioning look, pointing to his wounds.

"We shouldn't have been lazy the first time and destroyed that shitty bijuu," muttered the chunin hanging on his shoulder, 'when our capabilities were still unknown."

"We can do it now,' I shrugged and formed several seals, "Suiton: Daikodan no Jutsu (Water Release: Great Shark Projectile Technique)."

A huge shark carcass more than fifteen meters long formed under my feet and, obeying my command, rushed after the fleeing ships, foaming the waves with its fins.
