Yunyi asked Sister-in-law Lü to find a basin, add fresh water, and soak the chopped salted fish in it. To help draw out the salty flavor, she added a pinch of salt to the water.
After that, the two began chatting as they wrapped dumplings.
Sister-in-law Lü was responsible for rolling the dough, while Yunyi was in charge of filling them.
Yunyi placed the finished dumplings on a nearby tray: "Sister-in-law, I'm new here, and I don't really know much about the situation in the family compound. Why don't you share some of your experience?"
Sister-in-law Lü liked Yunyi's straightforward nature; she wasn't the pretentious type: "Our family compound is quite large, you know. Our section is all composed of camp-level, deputy regiment level, and regiment level personnel, and the housing structure is the same for all of us.
Over there, it's occupied by company-level and platoon-level personnel, and their houses are one room less than ours, but otherwise the same.
