Chapter 582 - 582: Voldemort: Just you wait, I'll be back!

The two people Dumbledore had spotted were Helga and Rowena.

As for Rhys, he did not want to draw too much attention, so he chose to conceal himself rather than openly appear in the stadium alongside his two old friends.

According to Rowena and Helga's original plan, the two of them intended to clear out the Society's lesser members first.

But Dumbledore's words made them both stop in their tracks.

"What the hell is 'love and justice' supposed to mean..." Rowena felt as though she had a thousand things she wanted to complain about, but the timing did not seem quite right.

Helga had no such reservations.

Dumbledore's words suited her mood rather well, and considering that she was already in a bad mood, she simply shouted, "I'll help you!"

Then, under the stunned gazes of her two friends, she leapt down from the top of the Quidditch stadium and plunged straight toward Voldemort in the duelling arena.

She did not bother with anything else and simply chose to gang up on him with Dumbledore.

Rowena and Salazar: "..."

Neither of them knew what to say.

Perhaps Helga had built up too much anger in the dungeon and needed somewhere to vent it.

Since Helga had already taken action, Rhys and Rowena did not hesitate either. They immediately began attacking the Society Mages throughout the Quidditch stadium.

Rowena stood high above, firing wind blades down at the Mages and picking them off one by one.

Rhys, meanwhile, wandered through the stadium as though taking a leisurely stroll.

The only difference was that any Mage who came near him had all the blood drained from their body and was killed instantly.

As for Helga, she coordinated her attacks with Dumbledore.

A few plain-looking spikes of earth came first, followed by several small meteors, leaving Voldemort in misery.

However, after struggling desperately for quite some time, his ultimate move was finally ready.

The black sludge that had been forced into a corner of the duelling platform by flames and sand began to churn.

Then an enormous wolf's head emerged from within.

The flesh on its body had already rotted away, but the massive wounds on its head were still visible, deep enough to expose bone.

Its head was not the only part covered in injuries. Its entire body was riddled with terrifying gashes, and the flesh around some of them even showed signs of having been burned black.

However, after emerging from Voldemort's domain, the power of the domain rapidly repaired the injuries covering its body.

Its shrivelled flesh became full again, while its dishevelled fur turned sleek and glossy.

Summoning the demonic wolf and repairing its injuries drained the very last traces of Voldemort's strength.

Once the wolf had completely emerged from the ground, Voldemort's domain disappeared as well.

The final remnants of black sludge clung to the wolf's tail and restored the severed section.

"The demonic wolf Fenrir!"

The weakened Voldemort revealed a sickly smile.

"A true god! An ancient god of the Norse pantheon!"

Helga calmly looked at the imposing Fenrir without being shaken in the slightest by its terrifying presence.

She only wanted to ask Voldemort one question.

"So in the end, you're placing your hopes in a god?"

Voldemort narrowed his eyes.

"Once it entered my death domain, it became my power. You and Dumbledore will become part of me as well!"

Helga understood what Voldemort meant.

Not bad.

At the very least, the man before her still counted as a wizard and had not completely become a servant of the gods.

Perhaps Salazar would feel slightly relieved.

This Dark Wizard who had emerged from Slytherin House still retained at least one redeeming quality.

If Voldemort had instead prostrated himself before the Norse demonic wolf he had summoned, even going so far as to acknowledge it as his master, there was no telling how badly Salazar would have taken it.

Voldemort did not understand the true meaning behind Helga's question, nor did he care to think about it.

After their brief exchange, he waved his hand.

The demonic wolf immediately lunged toward Dumbledore.

At the same time, several strands of fur drifted from its body.

The moment they touched the ground, each transformed into a giant wolf more than a man's length.

They followed behind Fenrir and charged toward the two of them together.

Helga glanced at the demonic wolf and quickly realised that it possessed only the form, not the true essence of the original.

It was merely relying on the overwhelming strength of its divine body and attacking through instinct.

Dust and sand rose from the ground and swiftly wrapped around the smaller wolves that had been summoned.

With a gentle twist, Helga turned them all into clay statues.

A few seconds later, they made several soft popping sounds and reverted back into strands of wolf fur.

Dumbledore, meanwhile, controlled the flames and conjured a fiery phoenix, sending it into battle against the demonic wolf.

After only a few exchanges, the fur covering the wolf's body caught fire.

Helga stepped aside to give Dumbledore more room.

She also wanted to take this opportunity to see just how strong Hogwarts' current Headmaster truly was.

After observing for a while and gaining a rough understanding of Dumbledore's strength, she raised a hand and pointed at the demonic wolf.

Sand immediately wrapped around both of its hind legs, fixing it firmly in place and preventing it from moving.

Dumbledore's phoenix seized the opportunity.

It swooped down from above and swiftly, precisely pecked out the demonic wolf's eyes.

The blinded wolf let out a howl of pain and began struggling desperately.

But it had already been reduced to fighting on instinct alone, and now it had lost its sight as well.

How could it possibly be a match for Dumbledore?

After several more attacks from the phoenix, the demonic wolf crashed heavily to the ground.

Its imposing aura rapidly faded away.

A few seconds later, it returned to its original form, becoming a heavily decayed wolf carcass.

Dumbledore casually covered it in flames, only to discover in surprise that he had burned away merely part of the rotten flesh and fur.

The remaining body showed no sign of being destroyed at all.

"The remains of a god aren't so easily destroyed. Their bodies will only begin to truly decay once the divine substance within them has naturally dissipated," Helga explained in the experienced tone of someone who had seen it before.

Dumbledore could not help thinking one thing.

She sounded awfully familiar with this.

Just how many gods had she killed back then?

Seeing his final trump card defeated as well, Voldemort's expression became incomparably gloomy.

He pulled out his wand, preparing to make one last desperate resistance.

However, Voldemort's reaction speed had already fallen drastically.

The moment he drew his wand, Dumbledore struck him with a Disarming Charm.

His wand flew high into the air, spinning as it landed inside the wall of fire.

It instantly burned to ashes.

"It's over, Tom."

Dumbledore pointed his wand at Voldemort, his voice calm.

Voldemort's expression became even more twisted.

"Just wait, Dumbledore. I will come back."

He still had Horcruxes.

As long as his Horcruxes remained intact, he would not truly die.

"I'll be waiting for you."

Dumbledore showed no emotional reaction to Voldemort's words.

"When you return, I'll deal with you again, until every last one of your Horcruxes is exhausted."

He had anticipated this moment long ago and had already prepared himself for it.

It was his responsibility.

It was also the sin he had to atone for, a way of making up for the mistakes he had made all those years ago.

A flash of light erupted.

The last trace of colour vanished from Voldemort's face.

He collapsed onto the duelling platform, sending up a cloud of dust.
