The final instructions had barely left Roberto Martínez's mouth when the room began to move again.
"Lastly, keep the distances tight. I don't want you giving them too much time to think on the ball because that is going to work against us if they do."
Martínez looked around the room one last time, making sure every player was listening before continuing!
"And if anyone feels something, anything at all, you tell us. Don't hide it."
The players nodded sparsely as the manager ended his speech, then glanced at his watch a second later.
"Good. Now let's go out."
Chairs scraped against the floor as the players began gathering their things.
Martínez remained where he was for another moment, watching them with his arms folded.
They had played well in the first half, better than many had expected, perhaps.
Portugal had found ways through Spain's press, Ronaldo had scored already, and the midfield had managed to keep Rodri and Pedri from taking complete control.
