Across Sector 1 to Sector 9, the Capital Army remained on full alert.
Radar stations operated without rest while detection towers continuously scanned the wilderness surrounding every sector. Drones flew through ruined cities, forests, highways, and mountain regions searching for traces of the Embers. Military checkpoints were reinforced one after another, and entire roads were blocked using armored barricades and automated cannons.
The Capital clearly believed the next attack would happen soon.
After losing six sectors so quickly, nobody dared underestimate the Embers anymore.
Heavy mechs stood near defensive walls with pilots waiting inside their cockpits for emergency deployment. Missile launch systems remained active day and night. Fighter aircraft moved constantly across the skies above Libria, their engine sounds echoing over cities that had already become tense from the war.
Yet despite all the preparation, the expected attacks never came.
