The night deepened, and Slade stood at the door with a black cloak draped over his shoulders. He held Raven in his arms, and the child was also wearing a similar black cloak.
Slade looked at Mina, who was standing at the side, and said, "We will be back by tomorrow night."
Mina hesitated, but she nodded. She looked at Raven's smiling face for a long moment, because she knew that after tonight, Raven would never have the same innocent smile on his face again. She walked up to them and patted his head gently as she said, "Be safe, and follow the elders."
Raven nodded and replied, "Yes, Grandma."
Then Slade took him out, and they vanished.
