"Pain, it's right if it hurts. If it didn't hurt, I wouldn't hit you!" Cheng Yujie said indifferently.
"But if you break me, you won't have a daughter anymore!" An Ning threatened.
Cheng Yujie was even tougher. "So what if I don't have a daughter? I already lost my son."
"..." An Ning closed her mouth, wondering if her mom could be less harsh.
Did she need to go this hard on her own daughter? Didn't she feel bad herself?
Cheng Yujie handed An Ning a clean towel and a set of new pajamas. "Wipe Shishi off quickly and help her change clothes so she'll sleep more comfortably."
"Isn't this unnecessary?" An Ning felt she couldn't handle a drunkard.
"And you call yourself a good friend? Is this how you treat your friends?" Cheng Yujie questioned with a frown.
"I just want her to rest well. Right now, she surely wouldn't like being touched randomly; it might disturb her sleep."
