They were experienced Lords, and their coordinated use of the isolating sword formation made them even more troublesome. Fighting them would consume precious time and resources, precisely what Aksai couldn't afford to waste.
If he and Humeyin attempted to escape together after breaking the barrier, they would have to deal with the entire group. Even if they managed to defeat some of their pursuers, Kanis and the other imperial cultivators might catch up before they could put enough distance between themselves and Emerald Cove Island.
That was a risk Aksai had no intention of taking.
