Actually, it's very clear now. The fact that my husband could ask this question was just seeking some psychological balance. He couldn't accept that the person he loved most fell in love with another man, while he remained forever a backup. His heart is in pain too, but some things aren't just forgotten or changed on a whim. Everyone's life path is walked on their own, and the road chosen ultimately represents the kind of life conclusion they will face.
