Chapter 178: The Runaway Princess

Yang Jing lowered her head, glanced at her full curves, then let her gaze move downward—past her flat stomach, over her gray short skirt, and onto her long, snow-white legs.

Whether it was her figure or her face, she was more than ninety percent satisfied. She should count as a beauty, right?

Then she sighed. By nature, she was calm, not fond of fame or fortune, rarely angered by anything. As a doctor, she would never blush easily—but today she had completely lost to Zhang Yang. Not only was she both ashamed and angry, but her face had turned red several times.

That damn brat, how could you treat a beauty like this?

Just wait and see how your sister will deal with you. How did I never realize before that you were this bad!

She stomped a few steps and caught up with Zhang Yang. "What did you just say?"

Zhang Yang saw her and grinned, bending his arm to offer it to her. "Didn't say anything!"

Yang Jing clenched her pink fist, punched him once, and shoved him away. "Bad guy, you really hid it well before."

Thinking about it, she huffed heavily, then boldly stepped up, slipped her hand through his arm, and held on tight. "Fine, this sister's going all in. Let's see whether your harem of crazy women is tougher or your lust is stronger."

Zhang Yang glanced around—and sure enough, a few guys and girls nearby who recognized him were secretly reaching into their pockets, pulling out their phones, clearly preparing to snap pictures.

"Relax, Sister Jing, this still isn't enough of a show…" Zhang Yang glanced at her and whispered, "Unless you kiss me once, or maybe…"

"You damn brat, not playing with you anymore." Yang Jing finally retreated, let go of Zhang Yang's arm, stepped a meter away, and said softly, "Stay back."

Zhang Yang nodded with a smile. Between him and Yang Jing, if he didn't take the initiative, because of all the entanglements, their relationship would never progress.

So now he'd rather throw away his dignity and take the offensive.

Only by constantly bombarding her with shameless words and actions could he make her get used to him—and maybe one day, they could act like a normal couple.

Seeing that Zhang Yang actually agreed and didn't come closer, Yang Jing unexpectedly felt a bit disappointed and pouted.

Up ahead, a group of passengers who had just gotten off their flight were walking toward them.

Zhang Yang raised the sign, but then thought again—Gao Qi's handwriting was really too ugly. It made the company look bad, so he quickly hid it and placed it on the floor.

The target was obvious anyway. Even without a sign, the tallest and most beautiful one in the crowd had to be Xi Chen Jinglan.

Sure enough, just as he sneakily put the sign down—

He looked up and saw a stunning beauty in a long white dress and a fluffy white shawl, holding a white shoulder bag, standing out clearly at the top of the escalator.

She had long black hair cascading down to her chest.

Her straight, sleek hair contrasted sharply with her white dress, and combined with her tall figure, made her stand out like a landmark—drawing glances from everyone around.

She hadn't even stepped out yet, and Zhang Yang had already noticed several sleazy guys sneakily following close behind her, clearly looking to take advantage of her.

Xi Chen Jinglan must've sensed it too, dodging left and right, trying to get away from those men.

Then she seemed to spot Zhang Yang and Yang Jing outside, and quickened her pace to squeeze through the crowd.

"Xi Chen—" Zhang Yang hadn't even opened his mouth.

Xi Chen Jinglan subtly signaled him with her eyes, then walked straight forward. As she passed by Zhang Yang, she whispered, "Help me get rid of those guys."

Zhang Yang was stunned for a moment. Xi Chen Jinglan had already brushed past him and headed straight toward Yang Jing. "Hi, Senior."

Zhang Yang was still confused when those four sneaky men came after her, trying to pass by him to follow Xi Chen Jinglan. Remembering her request, he stretched out his hand and blocked their way.

The men clearly hadn't expected anyone to stop them and glared at him all at once.

Zhang Yang had thought they were just a bunch of perverts, but one look into their eyes told him otherwise. Beneath their ordinary looks gleamed a sharp, deadly focus. These guys were trained.

They were trouble.

"Buddy, move aside," said the one who looked like their leader, his eyes locked anxiously on Xi Chen Jinglan, who was hurrying away with Yang Jing.

Zhang Yang glanced at him warily, but kept a casual expression. He looked toward Xi Chen Jinglan and said lazily, "Bro, you eyeing that chick in the white dress too? Nice taste. She's got the face, the height, and that big round ass—perfect for making babies."

The man froze for a second, scanning Zhang Yang up and down before scowling.

The other three didn't bother with words—they stepped forward, trying to shove Zhang Yang aside.

Two of them moved left and right, using quick grappling techniques to restrain him. But after a few exchanges, they realized not only were they getting nowhere—they'd been hit a few times. The strikes weren't painful, but their pride was gone.

"Boss, not normal—this guy's tough…"

One of them spoke up, and the other two immediately reacted, ready to fight.

But the leader barked, "Xiao Hei… Don't forget where we are."

Zhang Yang looked back toward Xi Chen Jinglan and Yang Jing, who were already near the Range Rover. He turned back to the four, smiled faintly, and suddenly reached out—twisting one man's arm until it popped out of joint. "Sorry, bro."

He shoved the guy to the ground and quickly ran off after Yang Jing and the others.

The leader was stunned, looking at his sweating, groaning comrade on the floor, and finally said, "Watch Xiao Hei."

Then he signaled the others and took off after Zhang Yang.

But all they could do was watch helplessly as Zhang Yang's car sped away.

He tried to flag down a taxi, but before it even started, the white Range Rover had already turned a corner and vanished.

"Holy shit… that speed." Zhang Yang's driving left the taxi driver stunned—let alone the man trying to catch up.

"Driver, did you catch the license plate?" The black-clad leader pulled out two hundred-yuan bills and handed them over.

The driver shook his head helplessly. "Too fast. Didn't see it clearly… but it was a new Range Rover."

The black-clad man sighed and still tossed the money to the driver.

"So, are we still chasing them?"

"Can we catch up?"

"Nope!"

"Then forget it." The leader walked off, annoyed.

The other three looked at him blankly. "Boss, what now?"

"What now? We find her, of course!"

In the Range Rover, Xi Chen Jinglan gave Zhang Yang a thumbs-up. "President Zhang, your driving is impressive."

"Thanks for the compliment." Having mastered Advanced Driving Technique, he could easily qualify for a racing competition—let alone outpace a taxi. Though, admittedly, some taxi drivers were beasts too.

Zhang Yang glanced at Xi Chen Jinglan through the rearview mirror and smiled faintly. "Those guys just now—they were your bodyguards, weren't they?"

"Nope…" Xi Chen Jinglan smiled sweetly, two dimples appearing on her cheeks.

Zhang Yang could tell she was lying, but since she didn't want to talk, he didn't press further. Still, something felt off—like something was missing.

He glanced at Yang Jing in the passenger seat. She gave him a glare, thinking he was about to try something. Her lips moved slightly as if to say, 'Someone's in the back seat.'

Seeing her chest rising and falling, Zhang Yang quickly pulled his thoughts back and focused on driving. When the car finally entered the road to Nuwa Residence, he suddenly remembered something.

He turned back to Xi Chen Jinglan, surprised. "Miss Xi Chen, didn't you forget something?"

"Forget something?" Xi Chen Jinglan was fiddling with her phone in the backseat. Hearing him, she checked her white handbag and said curiously, "No, everything's here."

"Miss Xi Chen—"

"Hey, President Zhang, you don't need to call me that. I'm your subordinate now. Just call me Jinglan. 'Miss Xi Chen' sounds way too formal—it makes me feel awkward."

Zhang Yang chuckled helplessly. He'd heard from Yang Jing that Xi Chen Jinglan wasn't just an outstanding student but also the vice president of the student council. She might look like an angel, but her eloquence was said to be top-notch.

"Alright, Jinglan, but seriously, don't you feel like you forgot something?"

"Did I?" Xi Chen Jinglan lifted her bag. "Isn't everything here?"

"Where's your luggage?" Zhang Yang broke into a sweat. She came here for work, not for a vacation! Even if she were traveling, she should at least have some clothes to change into, right?

"Luggage?" Xi Chen Jinglan looked at Yang Jing with a bitter expression.

Yang Jing glanced at Zhang Yang and said calmly, "Jinglan ran away from home."

"Ran away from home?" Zhang Yang gave a wry smile. "So those guys were your bodyguards?"

He'd fought them earlier—though he couldn't be sure about the leader, the others were definitely skilled. If they'd all attacked together, the outcome might've been different.

To hire guards that capable, she had to come from a powerful family. Clearly, Xi Chen Jinglan's background wasn't ordinary.

"Yeah, thanks for helping me shake them off," Xi Chen Jinglan said with a nod.

Great, just great. He'd picked up a runaway princess from some powerful family. This was going to be trouble. Zhang Yang suddenly had the urge to dump her by the roadside right now.

This Xi Chen Jinglan was bound to bring big trouble down the line.

Then Zhang Yang glanced at Yang Jing again. There was no way she didn't know who Xi Chen Jinglan was. His dear accomplice of a sister—fine, once she finishes class tonight, he'll settle the score when helping her move.

Lowering his head, Zhang Yang stole a side glance at the hem of Yang Jing's gray skirt. Her fair thighs were mostly exposed now, the skin smooth and radiant—tempting as hell.
