Nero had fought countless times in his life. It was a major theme in his life, actually, so when he wasn't fighting, he was training to fight. One would think that such things were pointless considering how big a role the Eldrim Cards played in combat, and how unpredictable the various effects of the cards were. In that case, one would be wrong.
Without sufficient combat skills, it would be difficult to keep himself alive let alone fight back, or pursue victory. Reaction speed and quick decision making were key skills in survival, and fighting trained both of them.
Thus, one way or another, fighting remained a major theme in his life. It was to the point where it was difficult for him to distinguish most of his fights from one another. Some, however, were too memorable to be forgotten.
