We walked down a large hallway with rooms for the classes every way. Branching hallways, more rooms. We stopped in front of one room in particular, and Frederick told me, "This is the classroom that contains the class of 'World History'. Here, you will be taught about the history of the wars between demons and humans, this continent, the demon continent, and everything else. Want to take a look inside?"
I nodded my head. I walked into the classroom, and looked around. On the front was a podium for the instructor, and a chalk board behind. The chalk board stretched from wall to wall. The desks for the students were on layers, like risers in a choir, with desks for the students to sit at on each level. Two sets of stairs, three sets of desks on the left, middle, and right.
The front wall was covered in world maps, detailed maps of this continent, and a detailed map of the city.
I walked around a bit more, and then we headed to the nearby Magic History classroom. It was mostly the same as the World History classroom, except it had magic circle papers on the podium, and even more on the mana circulation of the body.
I looked around a bit more, and exited the room. He then said, "Now, shall we head to the arenas used for Swordsmanship, Archery, and Offensive & Defensive Magic?"
I nodded my head, I was seething with excitement. After all, I love campus tours.
--
We made our way outside, and to the back of the school. We then entered a small building, and as we entered it, it was bigger on the inside than that of the outside. Is this some kind of domain magic??
Mister Frederick saw my amazement as we entered the arena, and he said, "Yeah, I was like that too when I first saw magic like this. Cool, ain't it?"
I responded, "Yeah! It really is!" I studied it a bit more, but could not defer what made it so. I tried using [Appraisal] on it, but it didn't work. Inside of this domain lies a stadium used for the fighting and magic classes. One of the previous groups was already in it, the [Main Fighting Classes] group. They were being shown a multitude of things; including what weapons that they currently taught at the academy.
"I want to test something." Mister Frederick responded, "Sure, go ahead." I then turned toward the wall, charged up my strongest earth class spell, using about 70% of my mana, and fired it at the wall of the arena. It collided with the wall, and ripped a big chunk of it out. I fell to one knee after expending so much mana, and the wall slowly repaired its broken parts, whilst absorbing the broken chunk in order to repair it.
I stood back up, feeling slightly dizzy, and Mister Frederick just looked at me. He then said, "You seriously wanted to test that??" I then said, "Y-Yeah… God, I used about 70% of my mana on that." Mister Frederick then yelled, "Only 70%?!" I then asked him, "Yeah… Is that not a normal amount?"
He then told me, "No! The size and speed of that spell, the raw power it held, I have never seen anyone cast anything like it! I couldn't even see it when it flew!" He couldn't? I could… Oh, right, my magic eye.
I looked over at the other group, and they were all staring at me. Some looked at me with eyes that held amazement, some with disgust. Overall, I want to get out of here. I hate being the centre of attention. Mister Frederick then leaned down to me, and handed me some type of potion.
He then told me, "Drink this, it will help replenish your mana." I opened the bottle, and drank it. After I drank its contents, I felt much better. It was kind of bitter. My mana slowly began to replenish itself, and my strength returned to me. I handed him back his potion bottle, and thanked him. Mister Frederick then said, "I believe that you will win the school's battle tournament this year! Your raw mana, such power!"
I then asked him, "Battle tournament?" He responded, "Yes, the battle tournament of this school is held every year. There are two brackets of the tournament; one for the students, and one for the adults wishing to fight another. Whilst killing each other is against the rules, you can use more than less-lethal strikes. The church provides healing for the tournament, so you are able to deal big enough hits without much worry."
A battle tournament, eh? That sounds fun! I think I might enter it… Wait, it's mandatory, right? I then asked Mister Frederick, "Is the tournament mandatory for all students, or is it for those who wish to fight in it?" Mister Frederick replied, "Well, it is mandatory for every student, but it will be classed by the first, second, third, and fourth year students."
Mister Frederick then said, "Shall we move on to the next arena? That one is the actual one for the Offensive & Defensive Magic class." I nodded my head, and we exited the arena, the other group still dumbfounded by my display of magic.
We walked to another nearby small building, and entered inside. This one used the same magic as the last one, but this one was more suited for magical combat, and practice. It had a large amount of mana in the walls, presumably nullifying magic when it comes in contact with it. That way, the walls won't break down.
The [Main Magic Based Class] was inside, and they were all being shown how the nullification magic on the walls worked. The Mister Frederick clone that was assigned to them was about to demonstrate. I listened in.
It said, "Here, I will show you all the nullification process of these walls, to show the wondrous abilities of magic!" He then turned towards the south wall, which was directly behind him, and started chanting. I fueled mana into my magic eye, and I saw the flow of mana around him. Mana typically has a blue-ish hue to it, but the mana around him turned red. Could he be using fire magic?
The clone finished chanting, and said, "{Fire Ball}!" And he shot a large ball of fire, about the size of myself, and it flew to the wall, and immediately dispersed after making contact with it. The group, and myself, were amazed at the sight of the fire ball just dispersing after making contact with the wall.
I turned to Mister Frederick, and said, "Do you mind if Iー"
"No, no, don't touch anything, no magic testing." He cut me off. I then asked, "Why not?" He responded, "You might just break it… The arena walls have a lower magic resistance, and these ones have a higher resistance, but I would not like to take that chance with you." Fair enough. I then said, "I understand."
We went back to listening in on his clone speaking as the group calmed down. The clone said, "That is a great example of magic nullification!" Out of curiosity, I used [Appraisal] on the walls, and tried using Kitsu's full ability to enhance it, simultaneously. It worked… I was able to see how it all worked. Basically, it uses a system of mana to attack the mana inside of the spell launched, and then it breaks it down at lightning speed, destroying it instantaneously.
If I'm careful about it, I could replicate it! I might have to try and do that later tonight…
The clone then said, "This magic nullification wall, bestowed to us by the God of Magic, has not been fully identified, as to what makes it fully function. We have tried to study it, but we have never made any progress."
Oh… So, I've just made history? Cool. I feel like I am able to break through the limitations of the current research capabilities of this world quite easily. I'm still not strong enough for a lot of this world. After all, I nearly died during that C ranked quest…
As the group was told more about this wall, the history of this place, and a bunch of other shit, the day closed out, and we all started heading home. Overall, I had fun with the tour. Now, time to experiment!
