Chapter 214: Evilus, Jura Halmer!

Before the man could finish speaking, a dark shadow shot out from the depths of the cavern.
With a single strike, it knocked him to the ground. Under the faint glow of the surrounding crystals, everyone finally saw the attacker clearly.
It was a woman wearing a long cloak like a cape. Her green hair was slightly messy, and she held a wooden sword in her hand.
Beneath her foot, the beastman from before was firmly pinned to the ground.
He lay on his back, his body constantly twitching as blood continued to seep from his wounds. Clearly, his injuries were not light.
At that moment, the woman slowly raised her head, revealing a pair of brilliant sky-blue eyes.

Ryuu also noticed Bors and the group behind him, along with Ethan, who stood apart from everyone else.
She paid little attention to Bors.

Although they had met quite a few times, they had barely spoken. Yet every time they met, Ryuu could clearly feel that Ethan had become stronger again.
His growth had already surpassed the boundaries of what should be possible for a "human."
Even she found it unbelievable.
"Yo. Long time no see, Miss Elf."
"Mm."
Ryuu looked at Ethan and understood immediately that he had recognized her.
However, he had not called out her real name. That made Ryuu quietly breathe a little easier.
She cared deeply about the Hostess of Fertility.
It was already the only place she had left, and the only place where she could truly feel at peace.
"S-Save me…"
The man beneath Ryuu's foot miserably begged Ethan and the others for help.
However, none of Bors's group spoke.
Everyone subconsciously looked toward Ethan. After all, he had the greatest reputation, the strongest power, and apparently even knew [Gale].

Ryuu flicked the wooden sword in her hand and lowered her gaze toward the man beneath her foot.

"Then could you let this man go?"
"I refuse. Trash like them would be better off eaten by monsters. Dying by my blade now is merely the consequence of their own actions."

Without hesitation, Ryuu swung her sword down.
She clearly intended to kill him.
"Damn it! You bastards, hurry up and save me!"
With death approaching, the man finally started shouting desperately.
Yet no one moved.
Ethan did not move, and neither did Bors and the others.
A few people looked eager to interfere, but under Ethan's overwhelming presence, none dared act recklessly.
"Hey, doesn't that guy look like Jura Halmer from the Rudra Familia?"
"The Rudra Familia? Weren't they part of Evilus?"
"Could it be…"
At that moment, someone finally recognized the man beneath Ryuu's foot.
Swish!
The instant his identity was exposed, the man suddenly exploded into motion.
He broke free from Ryuu's restraint and rapidly pulled away.
He wiped his hand across his face, smearing away the blood from his severed ear. The miserable expression he had worn earlier vanished as well.
In its place appeared a twisted mixture of arrogance, anger, and resentment.
"I can't believe this guy is still alive."
"Bors, you know him?"
Ethan looked toward Bors.
He knew this person existed, but he could no longer remember his exact identity. After all, Jura was only a minor villain.
"Jura Halmer, known as the 'Slave Cat.' He was a member of the Rudra Familia."
"That was the Familia that framed and slaughtered the Astraea Familia, the Familia [Gale] used to belong to."
Ethan already knew most of that. It was only the finer details he could no longer remember.
"Not only that. Five years ago, [Gale] went berserk and destroyed the Rudra Familia, killing everyone."
"They were all supposed to be dead. I never imagined you were still alive."
Bors stared at Jura.
This man had already been notorious even back then.
"That's right! I survived!"
"But I was the only one who survived!"
His crazed words made Ethan frown slightly.
'That's strange.'
In the original story, wasn't this guy supposed to act miserable first, pretend he was the victim, and only reveal his true nature later?
Why was everything different now?
Not only that, Jura's emotions seemed strangely unstable. His eyes were completely bloodshot.
"Jura!"
Ryuu's furious roar suddenly rang out.
At this moment, it was almost impossible to believe that she was normally that cold and composed elven beauty.
"Damn you, [Gale]! Why can't you just die?!"
"You're the one who should die, Jura! Go to the underworld and repent before everyone!"

Jura suddenly pulled out a whip from somewhere and lashed it forward.
Ryuu instinctively leaned aside.
The whip struck the ground and directly blasted open a crater.
"Looks like you could use some help, Miss Elf."
"This is my problem."
Ryuu glanced at Ethan. She did not want his help.
She wanted to take revenge with her own hands.
"Sorry, but this guy is also my target. The Guild suspects Evilus is plotting something again, and he's a member of Evilus."
"I need to pry some information out of him."
"No. Someone like him must be killed immediately."
"Sorry, but right now, I'm the one calling the shots here."
"You—"
For some reason, when Ryuu looked at Ethan, even while consumed by rage, she subconsciously took half a step backward.
She did not understand why.
Her body seemed to instinctively fear Ethan.
Ethan turned his gaze toward Jura.
This man was somewhat different from the version he remembered.
But it did not matter.
As long as he captured him, everything would become simple.
Once corrupted by the black mud, forget Evilus. Even if Jura were the son of an evil god, he would still obediently confess everything.
As for Jura's plan from the original story, Ethan did not care about that either.
