Meow's face was buried in the pillow, the blanket pressed beneath her, with one leg over it.
In the night, Tyr's lips curled into a shallow smile, stunning the night entirely.
...
As dawn broke, Meow was awakened by the sound of birds chirping outside the window.
She slept especially well last night, not once dreaming of the recurring dream she often had while recuperating in the small town, a dreamless night till dawn.
Meow rolled over twice in bed, lingered for a bit, then jumped out of bed.
She pulled open the curtains, letting the morning sunlight pour in; it fell upon the small plants on the windowsill, their tender and juicy leaves appearing exceptionally vibrant and green.
Meow ran barefoot to the bathroom, filled the toothbrush cup with some water, and carefully sprinkled it over the plants.
The May sunlight in Feilengcui was warm and gentle; Meow pushed open the window, allowing the slightly cool morning breeze to blow in, and she took a deep breath of fresh air.
