A few hours later, the assassins who had tried everything they could to escape or fight back were all dead.
Some revealed information, thinking they were going to live. Others were beheaded by Matthew.
"Fools. They didn't even realize they'd been in an illusion this whole time." Matthew laughed, and the moment the illusion ended, the bodies in front of him vanished and began falling to the ground on distant hills and nearby plains.
No one was actually standing in front of him.
But they were all dead.
Matthew grabbed a piece of paper and wrote a few things down before sending it to Emma.
"I'm too lazy to deal with any more cells for now," he muttered and walked back to the city without worrying about anything else.
