CHAPTER: THE BROKEN ROYAL SEAL
Queen Rose was halfway through reading the captain's report when she noticed the guard standing outside her chambers.
He looked nervous.
"Is there something else?" she asked.
The guard bowed. "Yes, Your Majesty. The captain sent another message. He said something was discovered beneath the blanket in the abandoned building."
Rose immediately put the report down.
"What was discovered?"
"A royal seal, Your Majesty."
For a moment, Rose thought she had misunderstood him.
"A royal seal?"
"Yes, Your Majesty. It was broken in half, but the captain believes it may belong to someone connected to the royal family."
Rose rose from her chair.
"Bring it to me. Immediately."
The guard bowed and hurried away.
Richard, who had been standing beside the window, turned toward her.
"What is happening now?"
Rose looked at him, her expression troubled.
"They found a royal seal in the forest."
Richard's face changed.
"Are you certain?"
